EXTENSION AC A markedly thin blade (inner ply 2.5 mm, total thickness about 4.7 mm), which reminds on the first generation of carbon blades, with an inter-esting ply structure. The soft fir combined with a medium hard Ayous inner ply creates extremely good control. PBO fibre/carbon plies ensure stability and a larger sweet-spot. The robust Acacia outer plies pro-duce great resistance.

A blade for the player who wishes to have the qualities of a carbon blade with the best possible control.

EXTENSION OC Extension OC is a very fast and relatively hard offensive blade. No compromise permitted. The Ovankole outerplies are extremely hard and in combination with the underlying PBO fibre/carbon layers create top acceleration. OVTCHAROV NO. 1 This blade has a similar ply formation to Ovtcharov No. 1 Senso but is slightly heavier. In contrast to Ovtcharov No 1. Senso the handle does not have the Senso technology. The weight distribution is therefore different, and the blade appears to be more balanced. The careful production with the combination of high class Acryl Carbon plies guarantee a blade that is absolutely top class.

OVTCHAROV NO. 1 SENSO This is Superstar Dima Ovtcharov’s favourite. He really does play with this blade. Two layers of Premium Acryl-Carbon surround the inner ply. This blade is distinguished by enormous acceleration, yet has great feel and relatively soft touch. The Senso-Grip-Technology ensures a light weight and transfers the contact point to the top of the blade. This enables Dima to produce the necessary power for his unique topspin strokes. DOTECDONIC DOTECThe Dotec grain is a wood grain developed by DONIC for the specific production of table tennis blades. This wood grain has been produced with particular emphasis on giving a light touch.

The handleThe DONIC DOTEC model has a totally different handle to previous bats. The handle is made out of one piece, sur-rounded by natural cork. There are different versions for right and left handers.

In the case of this blade, the Dotec mesh lies directly under the Limba covering ply. The middle layer consists of Limba ply. The core is made out of 4,5 mm Dotec-Balsa.The Limba / Balsa combination produced by the DONIC Dotec Technology, results in a perfect, relatively speedy, all round blade. The touch is amazing when returning the ball.

The covering ply is constructed of Japanese Hinoki, supplemented with a middle layer of Koto. A Dotec mesh lies between the Japanese Hinoki and the middle Koto layer. DONIC EPOX System: Each blade a high quality original

DONIC EPOX series veneers are not glued with a liquid glue, but with a gluing coat of Epoxy resin.

The five veneers with epoxy coating are pressed together adding heat for 20 minutes. During this process the epoxy coating liquefies and glues the veneers together.

The middle veneer and two intermediate layers consist of monoblade veneers. Only one-piece veneers are used in this monoblade technique. Other traditional techniques often use several pieces which are put together.

This means each pressed veneer is only used for one blade resulting in a unique blade of high-quality.

The unique method of gluing the plies of the EPOX-blades with epoxy resin ensures their special rigidity. Depending on the particular ply formation, extra power and speed are achieved. The blade has superior control without unpleasant vibration.

The edges close to the handle are carefully rounded off. This is the main reason why each blade of the DONIC EPOX series is very easy to handle.

Many players hold the handle differently for forehand and backhand shots. Due to the smooth, rounded handle, this presents no problems.

The DONIC FINELINE Covered System: An overall sure thing

A stiff blade usually offers less control but this does not happen with DONIC BURN OFF.

For a fast blade at 85 – 90 g it is relatively light and has an outstanding sweet spot. It won’t be top heavy even with heavy and hard rubbers.

2_DONIC BURN OFF -

The OFF- Version is even more controllable and has better feel than the BURN OFF blade. In harmony with the thinner middle ply it is slightly more elastic and in combination with somewhat softer rubbers imparts slightly more spin than the OFF version.

At a weight of approximately 85 g this is a standard weight for a high quality offensive blade. This beau-tifully produced high class blade in DONIC’s series has a superb sweet spot.

The main priority in producing the Allround Plus Version of the DONIC Burn blade series has been to ensure ease of control and feel. The thinner Kiri cen-tre ply of the DONIC BURN ALL+ offers greater con-trol than the blades in the Offensive series. At 80 g this blade is highly suitable for players who prefer a lighter blade. The DONIC BURN ALL+ blade can also be used with harder attacking rubbers to produce fantastic speed.For an Allround blade this model is relatively stiff and combined with softer rubbers will develop plenty of spin.

THE DONIC BURN SERIES The thermic treatment of the veneers makes for extremely high stability comparable to features of high-quality tropical woods. The blades are exposed to a temperature of 200 degrees centigrade for twenty four hours. This process hardens the wood and removes any humidity. DONIC BLUESTORM’s new thin, high tension, top surface rubber provides spin and speed qualities that have never been seen before, but with outstanding control at the point of contact.

With the new BLUESTORM Z1 Turbo, DONIC puts another, even more dynamic version on top. A sponge with medium sized pores and a short, wide pimple structure. Due to its 50° sponge, the turbo is even a bit harder and more dynamic than the Z1.

Players who used to like the sound and feeling of soft rubber sheets with speed glue prior to the glue ban can now reignite the joy and sensations with the series of SOFT rubber sheets. The versions Acuda Blue P2 and P3, Acuda S2 and S3, as well as Coppa X2 and X3 all belong to this new series. PIMPLES-IN RUBBERSThe elastic properties of the top sheet determine the control of the ball and the characteristics of your rubber. We therefore outline the following categories according to the characteristics of the top sheet.

• HIGH FRICTION and CONTROLThese rubbers are not fast, but provide high grip. Their control is excellent. Due to the weak elasticity, the grip can only develop its effect on topspin when slow balls are played. Low spin dynamics in fast topspin games.

• STICKYThese rubber sheets offer good control and are very sticky, provid-ing good spin when playing slow balls: i.e. service and first spin.

• CONTROL-ELASTICThese rubbers develop spin elasticity even at low speed giving you more control and providing more playing fun. Suitable for control orientated players.

• STICKY-ELASTICSlightly sticky rubbers with very good spin dynamics and ball control when playing at high speed. Very sophisticated technology. • OFFENSIVE-ELASTICFast offensive rubbers. Speed is the predomi-nant characteristic rather than spin. Interes-ting rubbers for fast aggressive players.

• SPIN-ELASTICProfessional rubbers for today’s top table tennis players. They not only have the speed of the offensive elastic rubbers but also the addition of spin characteristics.

The rubber sheet:European players usually play with pimples–in rubber. Pimpled out rubber for speed players and long pimpled and anti spin rubber for defensive players are encoun-tered less frequently.

The sponge:Sponges are available in several thicknesses. The thi-cker the sponge, the more difficult to control, but the more spin for topspin shots and the less spin for chop-ping.See our points for control, spin and speed in the Compact Description boxes.

Sponge hardness:Modern rubbers usually have three differing degrees of sponge hardness.We always indicate these in our Compact Description.

• SOFTSoft sponge provides better ball control. The spin remains the same while speed is slightly reduced.

• MEDIUMThe standard sponge offering a balanced relation-ship between control, speed and spin.

• HARDThese sponges provide more speed but less ball con-trol.

ELASTICITYControl of the ball is effected when the ball makes contact with the bat. The elastic properties of a blade make you feel this contact. It is down to the individual which type of elasticity is pre-ferred. We outline the five categories of elasticity. If you take these categories into consideration it will help determine your blade choice.

• Elastic You can really feel the contact between ball and blade, often with a vibration. A good example is the defensive blade Donic DEFPLAY CLASSIC SENSO, which has excellent control.

• Control-elasticBalanced, distinct contact between blade and ball with no disturbing vibration. Perfect control for all-round strategies, and when combined with spin elastic rubber also for offensive strategies.Example: DONIC APPELGREN ALLPLAY SENSO.

• Speed-elasticYou still clearly feel the contact between the elastic blade and the ball, but this blade is obviously stiffer and faster than a control-elastic blade. Example: DONIC EXTENSION AC.

• Nearly stiff The vibration has been reduced to a min-imum. You still have good ball contact. These blades are usually very fast.Example: DONIC OVTCHAROV NO.1 SENSO.

• StiffThe predominant characteristic is speed. Not always easy to control, but a good example for a solution to this problem is the DONIC EXTENSION OC.

H a n d l e sThe choice of handle is purely personal. In our compact description you can see the available handle shapes for each blade. There is no ‘best’ handle, everyone should choose the handle they find most comfortable. Straight handles are usually held more loosely, while concave and anatomic handles are held relatively firmly. Handles, which have not been lacquered, natu-rally absorb sweat better.

For the exclusive DONIC Dotec blades there are also special handles available for right and left handers.

OUR CLASSIFICATIONS FOR BLADES AND RUBBERS

Every table tennis player has his own individual style of play – as has every blade and rubber. I t is now possible to obtain a dist inct ive match between the two. I t has become very easy for a play-er to f ind the perfect match of blade and rubbers.

Few players have only one way of playing. There is a dist inct basis of play but with other elements. For example, al l -round players wi l l take the opportu-nity to win the point by attacking when possible but attacking players are also sometimes forced into blocking or pas-s ive play during certain s i tuat ions.

Similarly the performance of blades and rubber is not only one-dimensional. There is always a wide range of perfor-mance, which we can now i l lustrate.From DEF (defensive) - and + grad-uating through AR (al l -round) to OFF (offensive).

After honest analysis , a player can now choose the r ight equipment to match his game.

The f irst step is to analyse yourself : what type of player are you? A rough dist inct ion would be the fol lowing four categories.

DEFYou are a defens ive p layer who prefers to s l i ce the bal l .

ARYou are an a l l round player who uses a l l TT techniques: chop, b lock, sp in, and smash.You prefer tact ica l p lay and exact p lacement of bal ls or a speedier game.

OFF – Focal point SPINYou are a st rategic p layer who uses reversed p impled rubber. The main charac -ter is t ic of your game is topspin. P lay ing c lose to the table or only f rom a shor t d is -tance, you t r y to win your points with sp in st rategies.

3 DONIC FORMULA FIRSTThe DONIC Formula First is the ideal glue to apply all kinds of table tennis rubber sheets to the blade, especially the DONIC Formula rubber sheets with their high tension and speed glue effect. Perfect adhesion is achieved with DONIC Formula First. This water-based glue contains no volatile organic compounds (VOC) and complies with the ITTF regulations for table tennis glue. Made in Germany

2 DONIC VARIO CLEANThe DONIC Vario Clean has been developed according to the ITTF regulations. Without any volatile organic compounds (VOC) this water-based glue guarantees that the rubber sheet can be applied without any health risk. Easy handling and fast drying are two more characteristics of this top product.

Due to the inbuilt speed glue effect FORMULA DONIC rubber sheets have increased tension which gives faster speed, higher spin and an improved bounce of the ball.

These high performance rubbers are more sensitive to outside influences and are more fragile than the classic rubber sheets, which have not been speed glued (e.g. DONIC Vario series).

The lifespan of each FORMUA DONIC rubber sheet varies, naturally, with the type of player, type of rubber, strain on the rubber and care by the owner. The lifespan, however, is considerably high-er than that of the classic speed glued rubber sheet. Compared to an unglued classic rubber you can expect a lifespan of about 60 to 80 per cent.

Please note:

1. FORMULA rubber sheets should not be removed and glued again repeatedly.

2. The regular cleaning of the top sheet with VOC free DONIC cleaners or water is highly recommended.

3. The FORMULA DONIC rubber sheets should be protected against daylight or mechanical destruction by using the DONIC bat wallets.

4. Due to the higher tension of the FORMULA DONIC rubber sheets, the edges can break/crumble more easily. In order to avoid this, please use DONIC edge protection tape.

5. The bat must be protected against cold and heat. Particularly in midsummer and in win-ter you have to be careful that the bat with FORMULA DONIC rubber sheets is not exposed to very high or low temperatures. These extremes can cause the top sheet to become rough/brittle at low temperature and swell up at high temperature resulting in the life of the rubber being shortened. This means don’t leave your bat in your car or in too cold or hot rooms for a long time!

Application: Apply the glue evenly on blade and rub-ber sheet using the clip fixture and sponge (included). After approx. 5 minutes apply the rubber to the blade using a pressure roll. If possible store the glue in a cool place. Made in Germany.
