This is what we are

EnglishUsing fiction and non-fiction texts to learn about mini beasts.Read and write words and simple sentences. Use a capital letter to start a sentence and a full stop to end. Continue to trace, copy and write each letter of the alphabet.Write first name and surname.

MathsReading, writing, counting and ordering the numbers to 20.Finding 1 more and 1 less for the numbers to 20. Solve addition and subtraction problems using counters, number lines etc. Continue to double and halve the numbers to 10.

Learning Challenges-Are all mini- beasts scary? The children will learn about different mini- beasts. They will find and observe mini beasts and describe what they see. They will learn about the life cycle of a butterfly.

We will also visit Grappenhall Heys Walled Garden to conduct a

Begin to read and write digraphs- sh, ch and th.

mini-beast hunt and workshop. Please look out for a letter with full details.

Have a look in our window to see our caterpillars develop.

Art and DesignThe children will use clay and other malleable materials to create mini beasts.

R.E.Friendship-The children will explore the value of Friendship. They will read stories from the Bible about Jesus’ disciples.

Special Places- The children will explore their own and other’s special places. They will learn about places of worship such as churches, cathedrals, mosques and temples.

P.E.P.E. will be taught by the Healthy Heroes team each Friday. The children will develop their athletic and games skills.

MusicThe children will take part in music and movement sessions with Mrs Longstaff.
