Уводни думиСборникът „Библиотечният и културен мениджмънт и инфор-

мационно-комуникационните технологии” съдържа научни доклади и съобщения от проведена научна конференция с международно участие, както и изследователски материали от проекти на катедра „Библио-течен мениджмънт” в Университета по библиотекознание и инфор-мационни технологии.

Конференцията и сборникът се осъществяват в рамките на науч-ноизследователски проект „Изследователско-приложна работилница по „Библиотечен мениджмънт, научно и културно взаимодействие” (НИП-2011-10/18.03.2011) с ръководител проф. дфн Иванка Янкова. Партньори на Университета по библиотекознание и информационни технологии в тези дейности са Асоциацията на университетските библиотеки и Бургаският свободен университет като домакин на на-учния форум.

Тясното сътрудничество на катедра “Библиотечен менидж-мънт” с ръководството и преподавателите на УниБИТ от една страна и с Асоциацията на университетските библиотеки, от друга – се ут-върждава като ползотворна традиция. Този тип прояви и взаимодейст-вия активират научната творческа активност на все по-голям кръг из-следователи, сред които млади учени, докторанти и студенти, моти-вирани да изведат българската библиотечно-информационна наука на европейско и световно ниво.

В конференцията „Библиотечният и културен мениджмънт и информационно-комуникационните технологии” вземат участие лек-тори и гости от България, Русия, Хърватска, Турция, Италия и Иран. Сред участниците са университетски преподаватели, докторанти и студенти, библиотечни специалисти, експерти от културни институ-ции, издатели. Изказваме своята благодарност за оказаната подкрепа към проф. д.ик.н Стоян Денчев – Ректор на УниБИТ, проф. дфн Галя Христозова, заместник-ректор по научноизследователската и между-народната дейност на БСУ и Диана Адамова – Директор на Универси-тетската библиотека на БСУ. Удоволствие бе да имаме като гост на конференцията г-жа Анна Амендоладжине – Директор на Италиан-ския културен институт в София.

Конференцията е съпътствана и от стойностна изложба на тема “Нова научна литература от Европа и Русия”, с организатори фирма Индекс ООД и Представителството на РАН. Издателство „Актеон” участва с презентация на факсимилното издание на “Лицевия летописен

свод” от XVI век, както и с демонстрация на други редки и ценни изда-ния. Сред проявите на конференцията се откроява и демонстрацията на букскенер и специализиран софтуер на фирма РАЙС ООД, състояла се в Университетската библиотека на Бургаския свободен университет.

Представените в рамките на конферентните дни над 28 научни доклада и съобщения се публикуват в настоящия сборник. Те са струк-турирани в три тематични панела: Библиотечният мениджмънт и гло-бализацията. Мениджмънт и маркетинг на културните институции; Информационни и комуникационни технологии в библиотеките, архиви-те и другите културни институции; Дигитални библиотеки, опазване на културното наследство и достъп до информацията.

Включените материали обхващат теоретични разработки, прак-тически наблюдения, проектни и други приложни казуси от български и чужди автори. Сборникът съдържа доклади на три езика – на български, английски и руски език. Изданието може да служи като учебно помагало в обучението на студенти по библиотечно-информационни науки и нау-ките за културното наследство, както и в продължаващото образование на специалистите в библиотечните и културни институции.

РезюмеПленарният доклад разглежда мисията, целите, работните хипотези и задачите на проекта „Изследователско-приложна работилница по „Библиотечен мениджмънт, научно и култур-но взаимодействие”. Анализират се теоретичните и приложни аспекти на представената проектна концепция, с основен ак-цент – интерактивното взаимодействие в преподавателската и изследователската дейност.

Обосновка и институционална среда на проекта „Изследователско-приложна работилница по

„Библиотечен мениджмънт, научно икултурно взаимодействие”

Обменът на идеи и творческото сътрудничество между библио-течното образование и библиотечната практика е ключов момент в „пре-откриването на библиотеката” в съответствие с промените в новата информационна среда.

Поставените научнотеоретически и научно-приложни задачи в проекта „Изследователско-приложна работилница по „Библиотечен мениджмънт, научно и културно взаимодействие” се стремят да от-говорят на тези изисквания на съвременното обучение, съответства-що на икономиката на знанието.

Проектът „Изследователско-приложна работилница по „Библио-течен мениджмънт, научно и културно взаимодействие” надгражда на-трупания опит в сътрудничеството на катедра “Библиотечен менидж-

мънт” в УниБИТ в единното европейско образователно пространство и доказва стратегическата насоченост и мотивираност за развитие на преподавателите, докторантите и студентите. Той се основава на изсле-дователски проучвания и приложни разработки на творчески методи за взаимодействие между преподаватели и студенти в учебния процес в ба-калавърска програма „Библиотечен мениджмънт”.

Залага се на и сътрудничество с професионалистите от Асоциа-цията на университетските библиотеки (АУБ) (URL: ), Бургаски свободен университет (БСУ) (URL: ), фондация “Институт по технологии и развитие” (ITD) (URL: ) и други.

Мисия на проекта Мисията на проекта е пряко обвързана с един от основните прио-

ритети на Програмата за продължаващо обучение на Европейския съюз „Нови умения за нови работни места” и се стреми да постигне дълбочи-на в овладяването на базисните знания и стимулирането на творчеството и изявата на студентите като бъдещи специалисти – мениджъри с оглед на достигане на целите на обучението им, заложени в образователната и професионалната характеристика на специалност „Библиотечен ме-ниджмънт” в Университета по библиотекознание и информационни технологии (УниБИТ).

Основна цел на проектаЗадълбоченото учене се характеризира със стремеж към търсене

на смисъла и самостоятелно разбиране на изучаваното. Проектът „Из-следователско-приложна работилница по „Библиотечен мениджмънт, научно и културно взаимодействие” има за своя основна цел провеждане на изследователски проучвания, разработване на методически концепции и материали и експериментиране с приложението на творчески методи в учебния процес в бакалавърска програма „Библиотечен мениджмънт” със студенти първи, втори и трети курс и участието им в подготовката, провеждането, оценката и издаването на сборник като резултат от меж-дународна научна конференция със студентско участие.

Специфични цели на проекта Провеждане на две изследвания:Първото изследване засяга: Проучване на добри практики в европейски университети по

приложението на творчески и иновативни подходи в методиката на обу-чение по библиотечен, информационен и културен мениджмънт.

Съпоставимост, изводи и предложения за актуализиране и обога-тяване на съществуващите учебни планове и методологическата реали-зация на учебния процес.

Подготовка на научни доклади и учебни материали.Второто изследване засяга: Проучване на влиянието на престижния студентски форум

BOBCATSSS (URL: ) – международна инициатива на студенти по библиотечни и информационни науки – вър-ху академичната и междукултурната комуникация, обмена на идеи, до-брите практики и взаимодействието между традиционни и иновативни форми на университетското образование и професионалното израстване на бъдещите специалисти.

Обобщаване на визии на студентската общност от различни стра-ни по актуалните въпроси на библиотечно-информационните науки и библиотечната професия.

Реализацията на “Изследователско-приложна работилница по „Библиотечен мениджмънт, научно и културно взаимодействие” (пър-ви и втори етап), основана на взаимодействието в учебния процес меж-ду преподаватели и студенти чрез използване на богат методически ин-струментариум, постига конкретните казуси на проекта: изследовател-ски проучвания и международна научна конференция със студентско участие. Проектните етапи включват и основните мениджърски функ-ции: планиране, прогнозиране, осъществяване, оценка на проекта.

В рамките на осъществяването на проекта е провеждането на международна научна конференция „Библиотечният и култу-рен мениджмънт и информационно-комуникационните технологии” (“Library and Cultural Management and ICT”) със студентско участие, съвместно с Асоциацията на университетските библиотеки, Бурга-ския свободен университет, фондацията “Институт по технологии и развитие” и други, както и създаването на издателски продукт – сборник с материали от настоящата научна конференция и написване на научни доклади и съобщения.

Работна хипотезаСтудентите със задълбочен подход към ученето са мотивирани

от удовлетворяване на вътрешни цялостни интереси към съдържание-то в учебните програми и стратегиите им на учене включват критично вникване в съдържанието, съотнасяне на идеите към предишни знания и опит, използване на принципи за организиране и интегриране на тезите, обвързване на очевидното със заключенията, проверяване на логиката на аргументите и др.

Задълбоченото учене е предпоставка за творчество и съдържа творчески елементи.

Първи етап на проектаПрез първия етап от изпълнението на НИП „Изследовател-

ско-приложна работилница по „Библиотечен мениджмънт, научно и културно взаимодействие” се сформира екип и се осъществява ко-ординация на работата. Натрупва се информационен масив, свързан с изследователско проучване на добри практики в европейски уни-верситети по приложението на творчески и иновативни подходи в методиката на обучение по библиотечен, информационен и културен мениджмънт. Осъществява се изследователско проучване (съвмест-на работа между преподавател и студент) на влиянието на престиж-ния студентски форум BOBCATSSS (URL: ) върху академичната и междукултурната комуникация, обмена на идеи, добрите практики и взаимодействието между традиционни и иновативни форми на университетското образование и професио-налното израстване на бъдещите специалисти. Обобщават се визии на студентската общност от различни страни по актуалните въпроси на библиотечно-информационните науки и библиотечната професия при подготовката на съвместен доклад за представяне на настоящата международна научна конференция.

Изпълнява се първият етап на реализацията на проекта “Изсле-дователско-приложната работилница по „Библиотечен мениджмънт, научно и културно взаимодействие” с акумулирана проектна докумен-тация за взаимодействие с втори курс на специалност “Библиотечен мениджмънт”. Осъществено е учебно посещение в Археологическия музей с институт при БАН с учебна задача – проучване на формите за публична комуникация на археологическото и историческо наследство. Студентите създават факт-лист на специалност “Библиотечен менидж-мънт” и участват в етапите – планиране, прогнозиране и реализация на предстоящата конференция.

Втори етап на проектаПрез втория етап от изпълнението на НИП „Изследовател-

ско-приложна работилница по „Библиотечен мениджмънт, научно и културно взаимодействие” се извършват следните дейности: осъ-ществява се текуща координация на работата на екипа на проекта; натрупва се информационен масив, свързан с изследователско проуч-ване на добри практики в европейски университети по приложение-то на творчески и иновативни подходи в методиката на обучение по библиотечен, информационен и културен мениджмънт. Резултати от изводите и обобщенията залягат в научни доклади, изнесени на меж-дународната научна конференция в град Бургас. Поставя се началото на дискусия за преработване и актуализация на учебните планове на катедра „Библиотечен мениджмънт”.

Осъществява се вторият етап от реализацията на изследовател-ско-приложна работилница по „Библиотечен мениджмънт и култур-но взаимодействие” – с участие на студенти в провеждането и оценка-та на ефективността на международната научна конференция със сту-дентско участие, в подготовката на научен сборник, в създаването на научни публикации и други. Изготвени са научни публикации с мето-дически характер и учебни материали. Осъществено е взаимодействие с друг проект – Международната Интензивна програма по Еразъм “Библиотечен, информационен и културен мениджмънт – академич-но лятно училище” (4-17 септември 2011) (URL: ) с координатор Университета по библиотекознание и информа-ционни технологии и партньори Хасеттепе университет в Анкара и Загребски университет, Хърватска.

В международната научна конференция „Библиотечният и кул-турен мениджмънт и информационно-комуникационните технологии” (“Library and Cultural Management and ICT”), 3-4 септември 2011 г., Бур-

гаски свободен университет в гр. Бургас вземат участие лектори и гости от България, Русия, Хърватска, Турция, Италия и Иран. Сред участни-ците са университетски преподаватели, студенти и докторанти, библи-отечни специалисти, експерти от културни институции, издатели. Те са приветствани от проф. дфн Галя Христозова – зам. ректор по нaучноиз-следователската и международната дейност на БСУ, проф. дикн Стоян Денчев – Ректор на УниБИТ, проф. дфн Иванка Янкова – Председател на АУБ и г-жа Анна Амендоладжине – Директор на Италианския културен институт в София. Основните тематични панели на конференцията са: Библиотечният мениджмънт и глобализацията. Мениджмънт и мар-кетинг на културните институции; Информационни и комуникационни технологии в библиотеките, архивите и другите културни институции; Дигитални библиотеки, опазване на културното наследство и достъп до информацията.

Конференцията е съпътствана от изложба на тема „Нова научна литература от Европа и Русия”, с организатори: фирма Индекс ООД и Представителството на РАН. Издателство „Актеон” участва с презен-тация на факсимилното издание на “Лицевия летописен свод” от XVI век, както и с демонстрация на други редки и ценни издания.

Като научен издателски продукт от конференцията се подготви настоящият сборник, включващ 30 доклада и научни съобщения, изне-сени в рамките на международния форум.

През целия период на осъществяване на проекта „Изследова-телско-приложна работилница по „Библиотечен мениджмънт, на-учно и културно взаимодействие” се разгръщат дейности по връзки с обществеността с цел информиране и популяризиране. Проектът и международната конференция са отразени в сайтовете на УниБИТ, Асоциацията на университетските библиотеки и Бургаския свободен университет. Разпространеното прессъобщение получава отзвук в ре-дица електронни медии. Излизат от печат две статии, отразяващи меж-дународната конференция.

ЗаключениеСъщностната изява на творчеството, което цели да провокира

и изяви настоящият проект „Изследователско-приложна работилница по „Библиотечен мениджмънт, научно и културно взаимодействие”, се състои в създаването на нови идеи, продукти, ново превъплъщение

на знанията, нови отношения, правила, учебни и социални практики. В процеса на обучение това ново може да не е обективна новост, а индиви-дуално постигнатото ново, надграждащо предварително заложеното в зададените учебни схеми.

AbstractThe report presents the Intensive Programme ‘Library, Information and Cultural Management – Academic Summer School’ (IP LibC-MASS, Contract 2011-ERA-IP-7, 4-17 September 2011), held in Sofi a and realized by State University of Library Studies and Information Technologies (SULSIT, Sofi a), Hacettepe University in Ankara (Tur-key) and University of Zagreb (Croatia). This paper focuses on the analysis of the educational programme, project management, visibil-ity and PR, sustainability and evaluation of the project.

IntroductionERASMUS and its related programmes offer important opportunities

to many scholarly fi elds of education and training such as Library, Informa-tion and Archive Science fi eld. These opportunities also bring cultural inter-action between the countries and students. They provide information sharing in terms of learning new approaches and frameworks of other countries which is really useful in the context of globalizing world and sustainable devel-

opment that has already caught the fi eld of cultural and knowledge mana-gement. Erasmus, is stated as the world’s most successful student mobility programme and it is defi ned as an education opportunity not only for students but also lecturers and staff at higher education institutions [2]. It is also de-scribed as the largest organized mobility programme in the world, known and respected throughout Europe. As a part of the European Union’s Lifelong Learning Programme, two and a half million higher education students in Europe have taken part in the Erasmus programme since its introduction in 1987 [1]. Under the Erasmus programme, higher education institutions from different countries can create consortiums as well and to realize an Inten-sive Programmes (IP) Projects. In the IP’s project the consortium involves at least 3 participating institutions from 3 different countries. At least one participating institution must be from a Member State of the European Union. The planned location of the Intensive Programme is in a country which is eligible to partici pate in the Lifelong Learning Programme. The number of students travelling from countries other than the country where the Intensive Programme takes place must be minimum 10. The activity plan should in-clude at least 10 continuous working days of subject-related work (virtual cooperation activities like e-learning as part of the IP will not be taken into account). The Intensive Programme must take place without interruption and subject-related work days can only be separated by weekends.

Project description of IP LibCMASSIntensive Programme ‘Library, Information and Cultural Manage-

ment – Academic Summer School’ (IP LibCMASS, Contract 2011-ERA-IP-7) aims to create interdisciplinary educational programme and learning environment in which to acquire the knowledge and skills relating to the contemporary challenges of the management of libraries, museums, archives and information technology centers. The target groups are students (BSc and MSc) in library and computer science, information technology and cultural and historical heritage of State University of Library Studies and Information Technologies (SULSIT, Sofi a), Hacettepe University in Ankara (Turkey) and University of Zagreb (Croatia). The total number of participating students is 23, teachers – 18. Project Coordinator is Assoc. Prof. PhD Tania Todorova – Head of Library Management Department at State University of Library Studies and Information Technologies, Sofi a, Bulgaria.

The mission of the project is using a rich methodological toolkit to realize a modern educational process aimed at the implementation of interdis-ciplinary knowledge and skills relevant to the new requirements in the career development of students in library and information and cultural sector and

the policy response to higher education and the European Union initiative on “New skills for new jobs”.

The main topics in IP LibCMASS are:Library, Information and Cultural Management; Preservation and access to cultural heritage. Digital libraries; Intellectual Property. Information brokerage; Information technologies in libraries, archives, museums and other cultural institutions. Information literacy.In 2011 IP LibCMASS was held in SULSIT, Sofi a; 2012 IP LibCMASS

will be in the University of Zagreb and in 2013 in Hacettepe University, An-kara. This sustainability of the project concept ensures a stable international and interdisciplinary network in higher education in library and information sciences, computer sciences and cultural heritage sciences and promotes co-operation between academic education and practice – library, information and cultural sector [3].

Organization and educational programme contentThe Intensive Programme IP LibCMASS 2011 took place at the State

University of Library Studies and Information Technologies in Sofi a from 4th to 17th September 2011 and included inside and outdoor activities.

For each topic students had theoretical lectures by a multinational team of lecturers, focusing on presenting different theories and approaches according to the specialization of an expert. The theoretical materials were assimilated through a variety of teaching methods (workshops, seminars, individual assignments and Case Study in cultural institutions – libraries, museums and architectural and historical monuments) (See Appendix 1). We shared national experiences and best practices, we interacted in national and international teams, and we stimulated the intercultural dialogue and foreign language communication in English. ICT technologies and interactive appli-cations were widely used in the learning process. Graduates acquired 4 ECTS. IP LibCMASS accumulated theoretical and practical basis on which universi-ties made updates to existing curricula and textbooks.

The Intensive Programme included some study tours in the Nation-al Library St. St. Ciryl and Methodius, Rila Monastery unique architectural complex, the Rila Monastery Library and the Rila Monastery History Mu-seum, the Sofi a City Library, the Boyana Church and the National Historical Museum. Students also had outdoor learning day exploring cultural, historical and architectural routes in Sofi a.

During the working days, the students took part in the day programme from 9.30 a. m. to 4.30 p.m. At the weekend they enjoyed a study tour to the

Rila Monastery on Saturday (10 September 2011) and sightseeing tour in Plovdiv (11 September 2011).

In the daily programme participants also had time for self study to prepare for the following weeks duties and responsibilities.

Project managementProject management and communication teacher-student were based

on own IP LibCMASS website (URL: ). It was created and used for all project preparation and implementation work. All related material and information for lecturers and students as itinerary, tasks, bibliography, organizational information, useful links, news and PR activities and etc. could be found there on time. This central place for project material and communication was also used for post-processing work of evaluation material and photo gallery collections for every day of the IP programme.

For IP LibCMASS project was created new course in the e-learning platform ILIAS (open source learning management system URL: ), which guaranteed the long-term sustainability of the IP LIbCMASS intensive programme. All lecturers’ materials (lectures, instructions, recommended literature, presentations) and students’ presenta-tions and contribution materials on the different topics are accessible freely on the IP LIbCMASS website (rubric Education) and on the e-learning plat-form ILIAS (with a key login).

To stay in permanent contact with all responsible persons of the part-ner institutions during the whole project year, a mailing list was established to send all information concerning IP LibCMASS organization directly to the institutional coordinators, lecturers and students.

There were also organized two meetings between partners’ coordina-tors. The fi rst one happened on the frame of IFLA Presidental Meeting 2011 ‘Libraries Driving Access to Knowledge: Action for Europe’ (14 April - 15 April 2011) in Koninklijke Bibliotheek in the Hague with participation of As-soc. Prof. PhD Tania Todorova, Prof. PhD Serap Kurbanoğlu and Prof. PhD Aleksandra Horvat. The second one held in the frame of IFLA Congress 2011 in Puerto Rico, San Juan. Partners’ institutional coordinators Prof. PhD Serap Kurbanoğlu and Prof. PhD Aleksandra Horvat spread the IP LibCMASS leaf-let between IFLA participants and done activities for popularization of the IP LibCMASS project ideas and partner network.

Such a start-up meetings was a very useful and essential instrument to clear up all open project questions and to distribute project tasks in a demo-cratic way with all project partners. These meetings and active e-mail com-munication were used for decisions on: educational programme content; cul-tural institution visits; travel terms for participating lecturers and students; fi nancing; task force team on programme location; presentation of project website; development of e-learning platform ILIAS; students’ project exam; project round table; project publication and public relations; plans for upcom-ing project years in Zagreb and Ankara etc.

Important point in our discussions was the involvement of possible new partners in our intensive programme and collaboration with other IP and international projects such as:

Project disseminationDisseminating IP LIbCMASS project results and promoting the ben-

efi ts of an intensive programme on a professional as well as a national and translational level is an essential aim of this project.

In the phase of project preparation on July 2011 we developed project Logo and well structured proj-ect website included in the website confi guration of the State University of Library Studies and Information Technologies URL: .

Thus it was possible to present the IP LibCMASS project to a wider interested audience in order to provide an insight into the project concept and realization with the following rubrics:

Home; About IP LibCMASS; Project Partners; Programme; News and PR; Publications; Education; Links; Contacts; Sitemap. LibCMASS Photo Gallery, created by SULSIT students Mariana Ta-

lanova and Yordan Atanasov, gives a possibility to follow-up the every day and special moments of the Sofi a academic school.

Project website provides a perfect overview in order to recognize the international participation and visibility of importance of such an Erasmus intensive programme.

In the phase of selection of student participants for the IP LIbCMASS, a Power Point Presentation was made to inform about the project referring to programme location, period, content, participating institutions, project lan-guage, terms and for possible 4 ECTS. All universities in Sofi a, Ankara and Zagreb made some meetings and events to attract the students. We all used the same students’ selection criteria including task of preparation the essay ‘Profi le of the Modern Manager of Memory Institutions’. National student teams were announced on the project website with presentations.

Visibility of the project was ensure with preparation of folder, badges, pens, blok-not, t-shirts, posters, leafl et, labels etc. All materials includes Logo of LLP Erasmus Program, own IP LibCMASS Logo and Logo of the host uni-versity SULSIT.

The participating students and lecturers have been very active in the fi eld of project dissemination by organizing meetings, discussions and pre-sentations; by writing press releases for the university websites and articles for printed and online journals and other media.

Another successful kind of project promotion is the presentation on conferences like the BOBCATSSS-Symposia 2012 in Amsterdam (23-25 Janu-ary 2012), 9th Scientifi c International Conference ‘Knowledge Society and 21st Century Humanism’ (1st November 2011, organised by SULSIT, Sofi a)

and others. The IP LibCMASS was introduced on the Conference with in-ternational participation ‘Library and Cultural Management and Informa-tion and Communication Technologies’ is organising by State University of Library Studies and Information Technologies (SULSIT), Association of the University Libraries in Bulgaria (AUL) and Free University of Bourgas.

EvaluationThe IP LIbCMASS was several level and methods of project evalua-

tion. During the preparation process from June 2011 to 4th September 2011 active e-mail communication was used for all management and organizational tasks. In the project website you could fi nd the Selected Project Correspon-dence – feedback, shared remarks and new ideas.

In the frame of Intensive Programme regular evaluation discussions were held at the end of each week with lecturers and students contribution. The main points of the evaluation aspects were:

Accommodation; per diem for students; Information/organization/communication; Academic/learning outcomes; Recommended literature and educational materials; Student tasks and collaboration in national and international teams; Collaboration between bachelor and master students; Quality of education; Library and cultural institution visits; Quality of cultural activities and outdoor learning hours; Foreign language communication in English etc. Due to the requested problems and suggestions, the coordinator and

the SULSIT organization team tried to react immediately. Otherwise those evaluation rounds were a perfect possibility to receive also positive feedback from all participants combined with individual opinions.

At the end of the Intensive Programme each national students’ team had to prepare an evaluation publication and presentation for the Student Pho-to Competition ‘IP LibCMASS Story in 40ty photos’.

On the 16th September 2011 was organized Round table „IP LibC-MASS – new competences for future success. Re-thinking the Profi le of the Modern Manager of Memory Institutions” opened for wide audience and for whole academic community of the host university. Also was organized fi nal programme exam. On these events students presented their essays and presentations and these materials were discussed with the exam jury and other participating lecturers and guests. It was an important element of the project review.

The participating students obtained 4 ECTS points for that intensive programme which they integrate in their curriculum report. They also received a marked transcript of records and a certifi cate of participation signed by the Prof. DSc Stoyan Dentchev – Rector of State University of Library Studies and Information Technologies.

For a further detailed analyses of all project related aspects by the European Union, the students had to fi ll ‘Final Report Form for students’, questionnaire given as a form by Bulgarian Human Resource Development Centre. All participating lecturers were also invited to fi ll in anonymously ‘Evaluation Questionnaire for participating lecturers’.

Partner universities sent to the project coordinator Offi cial Letters with short internal evaluation of project participation of students and lecturers and Offi cial Letters of recognition of 4 ECTS of students.

FindingsAt the end of the ERASMUS IP program in Sofi a, two questionnaires

conducted that aimed to evaluate the educational program in terms of students and lecturers. In this context, related data was gathered from 23 students and 18 lecturers from participated universities. In the fi rst part of the study, fi nd-ings obtained from lecturer evaluations are summarized (See Table 1).

As it is shown in Table 1, Erasmus IP LibCMASS was described mostly excellent by lecturers. Especially project management/informa-tion/communication, cultural offers/guiding tours and per-diem of the pro-gramme was mostly evaluated as excellent. Contact to other participating lecturers and students during IP programme was evaluated as excellent and very good by fourteen lecturers (77.7%) and 94.4% of lecturers have evaluated IP programme excellent and very good in terms of coopera-tion with students during lecture/workshops. On the other hand accom-modation facilities of the programme were evaluated as excellent by four lecturers (66.7%) while it has been evaluated as very good by other two lecturers (33.3%).

In the second part of the assessment of the IP LibCMASS, another questionnaire that aimed to provide critical information about IP programme in terms of general overview, were applied to 23 student participants. In this part, questions that are about the identifi cation of IP, motivation of students and accommodation facilitates of the programme were directed to respon-dents (See Table 2).

According to fi ndings, students have mostly evaluated the programme as excellent and very good in terms of duration and dates of the programme. On the other hand half of the students have rated accommodation facilities as very good. Factors that motivated students to participate in IP programme were also analyzed in the questionnaire study (See Table 3).

As it is seen in the Table 3, all factors that are listed in the table moti-vated students to participate in IP programme are higher than 69%. Accord-ing to fi ndings students mostly motivated to participate programme in terms of academic, cultural and practice of foreign languages factors. In another part of the programme, questions about personal experiences of students and general overview of the programme were directed to respondents. Findings about this part of the questionnaire have refl ected that academic/learning and personal outcomes of the programme were very much by almost 74% of stu-dents. Analysis also revealed that almost 87% of students did not encoun-ter any serious problem during the programme and only two students have stated that they have encountered very little problems during the programme. Satisfaction levels of the students about academic activities and pedagogical aspects of IP are displayed in Table 4.

As it was highlighted in Table 4, the capabilities and expertise of the professors and the activities such as workshops, international and national team tasks and other activities besides the general course are rated as very much by higher than 80% of the students. On the other hand 43.4% of the students have evaluated the number of hours thought as very much and much and 59.1% of them have described the expected learning outcomes as very much. At the end of the analysis, 87% of students generally have evaluated the IP LibCMASS programme as excellent although 13% of them rated this question as very good.

After analyzing all forms of evaluation process it was concluded that IP Library, Information and Cultural Management – Academic Summer School was very successful Intensive Programme, which satisfi ed all partici-pants. We would like to mention some practical suggestions which should be considered during the next project year as follows:

per diem rate for students (accommodation, meals, transport) was not enough;more time for self preparation study; more detailed information by lecturers concerning students tasks and presentations in time;improvement of language skills before project start; vocabulary and guide of host country language and traditions.

ConclusionThe Erasmus Intensive Programme ‘Library, Information and Cul-

tural Management – Academic Summer School’ (IP LibCMASS) gave the Library, Information and Cultural Heritage Science students the opportu-nity to work together in innovative educational environment with interdis-ciplinary content.

The multiple methodological character of the whole programme im-proved the communication and presentation skills of all participants. They

collected and shared interesting experiences and valuable knowledge within a framework of lectures, seminars, workshops and discussions which were com-plemented with study trips to libraries and other cultural institutions. In this context the students prepared presentations and discussed topics in national and international teams from the fi rst day on. The international mixture and team-work of lecturers and students made it possible to compare different national concepts and experiences like the national study programmes and projects. Also the students discussed new ideas on professional topics such as digitalization and cultural heritage, intellectual property and information literacy.

Working in international teams of students gave teachers and students the opportunity to use and prove special learning conditions and teaching methods. Besides, it also enhanced the development of language and social networking skills.

An important benefi t of the programme is to give students the experi-ence of living abroad to get international contacts and to enhance their profes-sional competence.

Collaboration between students with different cultural and educa-tional backgrounds (Bachelor and Master programmes) was a tremendous enrichment for the future and resulted in stimulating professional and per-sonal partnerships.
