We strive to be the largest worldwide event promoting Japanese culture, exposing traditional and modern Japan through art and gastronomy, promoting a charming and unforgettable experience for the visitor and providing multicultural and social integration.

The festival

In three days, we will gather about 170 thousand people, who in addition to visiting the stands of our sponsors, will participate in musical shows, cultural attractions, dances, traditional regional cuisine of the Japanese prefectures, cultural exhibitions, workshops, tea ceremony and free activities for children, adults and seniors.

Infrastructure

The venue takes place in a 40 thousand m2 of totally covered area, within a multifunctional architectural complex, expanded and modernized with complete infrastructure and parking for 5.000 cars (4,500 covered).

Acknowledgement

In view of its importance and repercussion, the Festival do Japão was included in the Tourism Calendar of the State of São Paulo through State Law no. 11.139, of April 24, 2002 and in the Official Calendar of Events of the city of São Paulo through the Law 13,835 of June 3, 2004.

The event has the fundamental support and encouragement of the Japanese government, attesting to our cultural excellence. In 2017, with the theme "20 Years of Integration, Harmony and Culture", we recall the humble beginning at the Ibirapuera Marquise, to the present day, with mega-event structure and full recognition of society and public agencies.

Entre as atrações do evento, destaque para a Culinária típica regional, representando as 47 províncias do Japão, além das atividades da Área dasCrianças e da Área da Terceira Idade, com oficinas gratuitas de cultura e recreação. Também fazem sucesso os shows de música, teatro, dançasfolclóricas, taiko (tambores) e artes marciais, as exposições de Ikebana e Cerimônia do Chá, concurso Miss Nikkey Brasil e Akiba Cosplay Summit.

Among the attractions of the event, we highlight the typical regional cuisine, representing the 47 Japanese prefectures, the activities of the Children's and Seniors' Area, with free cultural and recreational workshops. Music, theater, folk dances, taiko (drums) and martial arts, Ikebana and tea ceremony, Miss Nikkey Brazil and Akiba Cosplay Summit competitions are also promoted in the venue.
