Engineering_______ _______ _ World Marine has a team of skilled engineers and designers to get the project done in a safe and timely manner. Our Engineering Department is composed of dedicated, experienced engineers, designers and support personnel. The group undertakes a broad spectrum of engineering activities in support of all facets of production. Engineering staff is based on current workload. Some activities may be accomplished by a specialty engineering subcontractor to support schedule. While the primary focus of the group is production support, the department is experienced at conceptual design activities, including feasibility studies and contract guidance drawing development in 2D and 3D as well as facility upgrade and maintenance design. World Marine designers have the ability to laser scan existing structures and develop 3D models. This work can be used to replace existing systems or determine the amount of available space for new structures and/or systems. These 3D models can be used to develop production drawings or drawings representing current as-built conditions on the vessel. Staff engineers assess specifications and develop guidance drawings, piping diagrams, complex lift plans based on shipyard capabilities, and scantling drawings in support of detail design activities. The Design Group is composed of three main elements: Structural, Mechanical and Electrical Design. These three groups work together to develop the detail design packages for construction activities.

Project Management World Marine strives to make the project management process timely and efficient by providing a consistent, standard process and set of templates that eliminate the need to reinvent methods from one project to the next. The processes and methodology have proven to be successful in the initiating, planning, executing, controlling and closing of successful project management initiatives worldwide. They also incorporate standards and the knowledge of World Marine’s seasoned project estimators, schedulers, and project managers. The World Marine project management process is based on the Project Management Institute’s “A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge” (PMBOK™ Guide).
