Baptism Baptism is celebrated after consultation with the parish staff as to date. Registered membership in the parish and attendance at a Baptism Class are required for all parents prior to their first child’s Baptism.

Holy Communion A two-year required sacramental preparation process begins in the first grade. It culminates in the celebration of First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion in the second grade.

Confirmation A two-year required sacramental preparation process begins in the sixth/seventh grade. It culminates in the celebration of Confirmation.

ENTUSIASMO Y GRAMÁTICA Hay una buena razón para que los escritos de Pablo no se usen como modelos de gramática correcta hoy. La lec-tura de hoy nos ofrece un buen ejemplo de que para Pablo el mensaje tenía precedencia sobre la gramática. La primera oración es bastante larga y deja a los lectores sin aire; luego hay una serie de declaraciones que están hilvanadas sólo en la mente de Pablo. Pero, ¿qué importa? El fervor de Pablo es tan evidente que las palabras no le salen lo suficientemente rápidas para expresar sus ideas de manera ordenada. Los estudiosos de la Escritura regularmente interpretan su falta de sentido gramático como señal de la importancia de un pasaje en la Iglesia joven; como algo tan importante para ellos que el lenguaje que usaron nunca fue refinado.

¿Qué puede causar tal estado? ¿Contar la trama de una película de acción o describir jugada por jugada de un juego de fútbol? ¿Cuándo fue la última vez que estuvimos tan excitados por nuestra fe en Cristo que nos faltaba el aire al contarlo, o cometíamos errores gramaticales por hablar con tanto entusiasmo? ¡Puede que sea ejemplo de mala gramáti-ca, pero es una manera excelente de inspirar a otros con el mensaje de Cristo!

As of July 1, Fr. David Wheeler will serve as sacramental minister for Saint Andrew and Saint Mary’s and available for all sacramental needs of parishioners. He will continue to work on his theses for the Licentiate from the Angelicum.

Fr. Anthony McLaughlin will be administrator of the parish until Fr. Miguel Alvizures is able to arrive. If he is detained beyond September 1, another priest will be assigned as resident administrator. Bishop John A partir del 1 julio, el p. Greetings members of St Andrews! While I have already had the pleasure of meeting some of you, I wanted to formally introduce myself to all. I am Fr. David Wheeler and I will be providing for the spiritual and sacramental needs of the parish until Fr. Miguel is able to return to the states and begin as your new Pastor. I am a native born member of this diocese, born and raised in Clay County KY, the middle of seven Children. I studied philosophy and humanities at the Josephinum Seminary in Columbus OH and then studied theology in Rome. I was ordained to the priesthood last June 29th and have been completing a degree in moral theology since then. I am very excited to have this opportunity to beginning ministry at St Andrews, and hope to get to know each one of you. I welcome any opportunity answer any questions you may have and serve you as best I can. While my time with you may be somewhat brief, my intention is to be as present and available as possible, so please reach out to me if there is anything I can do for you. Many Blessings, Fr.
