This acclaimed two hectare garden is filled with woodland ponds, waterfalls, a pear-walk and a dry zen garden. We return to the coast and drive to the port town of Burnie, site of Hellyers Road Distillery, where we go behind the scenes and tour the working distillery to see how they make
one of the finest single malt whiskies in the world then relax in their café overlooking the rolling hills of the picturesque Emu Valley. After lunch, we follow the Bass Highway, pausing at Table Cape to take in the views before continuing west to Smithton and our accommodation for the next two nights at Tall Timbers.

Day 3: Wednesday 14th March, 2018
Arthur River Cruise - Tarkine Wilderness
Today we cruise Tasmania's unique Arthur River aboard the M.V. “George Robinson”, a beautiful vessel with old world charm. The Arthur River is 170kms long and has never
been logged or dammed, so it remains much as it has been for thousands of years. We enjoy the warm and friendly atmosphere aboard the vessel as she meanders 14 km up the river, cruising through coastal heath and wet sclerophyll forests before reaching the pristine cool temperate rainforest at Turk’s Landing. Keep an eye out for
kingfishers, wedge-tail eagles, parrots, robins, pademelons and spotted quolls. A major highlight of the cruise is a close-up encounter with white-breasted sea eagles as they swoop near the boat to pluck fish thrown into the water by the crew. After an adventurous day we head back to our accommodation for a well-earned rest before dinner.
OVERNIGHT: Tall Timbers Resort, SMITHTON
