Formative evaluation is present in each stage of the ADDIE process. This involves any evaluation that takes place before or during a project’s implementation with the goal of enhancing the project’s design and performance.

Summative evaluation occurs after the program is finished to assess the results. Tests designed for measuring specific criteria are used to assess the value of the program and recommend future enhancements.
