Digital Cinematography World TM 2014 is a new benchmark study in Motion Picture and Episodic TV production equipment and its workflow.

All respondents are required to derive 51% or more of their income from movie or episodic TV production.

It is thereby the most comprehensive syndicated market research survey ever conducted regarding that workflow and the attendant products in the world.

The global DC market of professional end-users was surveyed, census style, in this global “bottom-up” effort.

A revolution has occurred in which the use of

film has been sun-setting rapidly and film-based

hardware continually retired, while electronic

cinematography has taken its place.

This began several decades ago with the use of

increasing electronic elements in post-

production, and now electronics have all but

displaced the use of film and rendered the old

approach redundant.

Film stock production lines have been halted and

film labs closed.

This has meant a total overhaul of the type of

as well as non-sponsoring companies,

in an effort to be comprehensive regarding brands and types and

other factors in the questionnaire.

D.I.S. now employs a hybrid methodology including:

1) telephone calls and interviews with professional respondents and

2) Invitations to potential respondents to visit an on-line site to

complete an identical questionnaire.

3) All gathered data is combined into tables, charts are created,

analysis derived and forecasts made. Raw gathered data is

then weighted and projected to the number of sites and individuals

that populate the professional cinematography markets, globally,
