Informix 11.7 – The Beginning of the Next Decade of IBM Informix
Informix Cluster expands the industry's most comprehensive set of high availability options on heterogeneous, low cost hw (competitive differentiator!)
Informix Analytics speed analytical queries and lower costsby up to 100 times (competitive differentiator!)
Time Series Analysis respond to high volumes of time related data in dramatically less storage and much faster query performance (competitive differentiator!)
Genero – 4GL Application Modernization increase developer efficiency; expand applications to cloud and mobility environments
Embedded and Autonomic enhancements respond to changes without intervention; deploy with little or NO on going DBA support.
Performance enhancements mean faster work flow processing, quicker decisions, less servers, and fewer resources
Low Total Cost of Ownership make Informix cost at least 31% less than Microsoft SQL Server*

Informix Cluster is a Game Changer
What is a grid?Grids are a form of distributed computing whereby a “super virtual computer” is composed of many networked loosely coupled computers acting together to perform very large tasks.
What is unique about Informix Flexible Grid?– ZERO downtime for maintenance and upgrades made EASY!
• Rolling Upgrades make users much happier• No temporary hardware required• No database or application cloning required
– Up and running in minutes – Automatically propagate database objects throughout the grid– Scale capacity when and where needed with Informix Flexible Grid– Utilize heterogeneous HW and operating systems within the grid! – Enable web-based services and cloud computing– Easily manage all of this from a single location
"The new flexible grid capability in Informix V 11.7 lets us re-use old equipment and combine it with the use of new equipment to scale out across a grid that uses different types of hardware and operating systems. This is a real innovation that lowers our operating costs with less investment in hardware, and lets us leverage existing investments and resources.“Hector De Santiago Ramirez, IT Infrastructure Manager, DHL

IWA = Extreme Value Informix Extreme
– Reliability: e911 has run on Informix for more than 15 years and never had a down system
– Availability: Customers average 1 DBA per 3000 instances. Hundreds of thousands of installs that require no administration
Warehouse Extreme– Columnar, In Memory: Terabytes of data per server, cluster across servers– Concurrency: Supports thousands of concurrent connections, using standard
SQL
Accelerator Extreme– Query Performance: Individual queries >1500 Times Faster– Average customer query acceleration > 100 times faster– Transparency: No Admin, No Tuning, No Aggregation
Extreme Value means Winning Performance

Informix Warehouse Accelerator
Analytics at the Speed of Thought!
What is it? How is it different?
The Informix Warehouse Accelerator (IWA) is
an In-Memory Columnar database that provides responses to queries in seconds that normally take hours or days. IWA is workload optimized, appliance-like, and enables the integration of business insights into operational processes
to drive winning strategies.
Performance. Unprecedented response times to enable 'train of thought' analysis often blocked by poor query performance.
Concurrency: Supports thousands of user connections to enable Smart Corporate Dashboards, and Real Time Applications
Integration. Connects to IDS, with no Application updates required.
Transparency. applications connected to IDS, are entirely unaware of IUWE
Simplified administration. appliance-like hands-free operations, eliminating database tuning tasks
