Put-In-Bay Course OpensPut-in-Bay officially opened its nine hole golf

course, Saturday, June 22, when Mrs. O. S. Dustin,wife of the vice-president drove off from the first tee.

Following the opening a game was played betweentwo Detroit teams for a trophy presented by the Ash-ley ~ Dustin steamer line. In the evening the newclubhouse was thrown open for a reception and so-.cial evening.

The Put-in-Bay course is twenty-five hundred andthirty-eight yards long and overlooks the scene of Per-ry's Victory in 1813. In fact the first tee is almostin the shadow of the world's famed Perry's monumentwhose mammoth granite column is a landmark foryachtsmen who traverse the western end of Lake Erie.

The greenkeeper at Put-in-Bay is Alex Miller, for-merly in charge of the Adolph Zukor Estate, near NewYork City. Miller is a ember of the N. A. G. A. andbegan his greenkeeping career at the Dover Ba y Coun-try Club near Cleveland.

Indiana Greenkeepers Meet at IndianapolisThe June meeting of the Indiana Greenkeepers As-

sociation was held at the Country Club of Indianapolison Monday, June 3. The morning was devoted togolf and inspection of the grounds. Jacobsen powermowers were demonstrated and highly commendedfor the good work they are doing.

The course was in excellent condition, although EdUpdegraph, greenkeeper of the club, had the sympathyof all present for having to fight his first attack of dol-lar brown patch. Several other greenkeepers reportedthe appearance of this pest on their greens also .

Mr. B. C. Stevenson, chairman of the Green com-mittee of the Meridian Hills Country club of Indian-apolis, in an address gave his idea of the benefits re-ceived both by the clubs and the greenkeepers throughour National and local associations.

After a short business meeting, Fort Wayne waschosen as the next meeting place, July I.
