Kartoo, A Visual Meta Search Engine
• Kartoo is a visual meta search engine, "with visual display interfaces. When you click on OK, Kartoo launches the query to a set of search engines, gathers the results, compiles them and represents them in a series of interactive maps through a proprietary algorithm." Or simply put, it puts its results on an interactive, visual map for you to play with. Kartoo is a metacrawler/metasearch engine, which means that it does not come up with its own results, but aggregates the results of many other search engines.

Currency
• Can you check accuracy of information somewhere else?
• Does the author of the web site have education, expertise, or experience to be a trustworthy source on this subject?
• Who is the page written for? What is the intended audience supposed to do with the information?
• Does the page acknowledge other possible positions, interpretations, or conclusions?
• Is the page dated? Has it been revised or updated?

Get Journal Contents by RSS Through Ingenta Connect
Ingenta has launched a new service, IngentaConnect, which enables users to keep track of new contents of journal titles through an RSS feed. For those readers using a news aggregator, this is a great way to keep track of contents of new journal issues. Users can search by journal title, then click on the RSS button to display the feed for new issues of the journal. The RSS web URL can then be inserted into any aggregator, or fed to other RSS-friendly sources.
