THE ORIGINAL SINGenesis 3:13 (NLT)

“The serpent deceived me,” she replied. “That’s why I ate it.”

SATAN THE ORIGINATOR AND PERPETRATOR OF ALL DECEPTION

John 8:44 (TPT) “You are the offspring of your father, the devil, and you serve your father very well, passionately carrying out his desires. He’s been a murderer right from the start! He never stood with the One who is the true Prince, for he’s full of nothing but lies—lying is his native tongue. He is a master of deception and the father of lies!

Revelation 12:9 (TPT) —So the great dragon was thrown down once and for all. He was the serpent, the ancient snake called the devil, and Satan, who deceives the whole earth. He was cast down into the earth and his angels along with him.

• Genesis 3:13 (NLT) — 13 Then the LORD God asked the woman, “What have you done?” “The serpent deceived me,” she replied. “That’s why I ate it.”

• HEB. TO DECEIVE. — TO CAUSE SOMEONE TO BELIEVE AN UNTRUTH; TO LEAD ASTRAY OR TO SEDUCE

• What was the untruth the devil caused Eve to believe?

• Genesis 3:4–7 (NLT) — 4 “You won’t die!” the serpent replied to the woman. 5 “God knows that your eyes will be opened as soon as you eat it, and you will be like God, knowing both good and evil.” 6 The woman was convinced. She saw that the tree was beautiful and its fruit looked delicious, and she wanted the wisdom it would give her. So she took some of the fruit and ate it. Then she gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it, too. 7 At that moment their eyes were opened, and they suddenly felt shame at their nakedness. So they sewed fig leaves together to cover themselves.

Areas that Satan Appealed to Eve…

1. Beautiful: Lust of eye

2. Delicious: Lust of flesh

3. Wanted Wisdom: Pride of Life

1 John 2:16 (AMP)

16 For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh [craving for sensual gratification] and the lust of the eyes [greedy longings of the mind] and the pride of life [assurance in one’s own resources or in the stability of earthly

things]—these do not come from the Father but are from the world [itself].

• Matthew 24:24 (NLT) — For false messiahs and false prophets will rise up and perform great signs and wonders so as to deceive, if possible, even God’s chosen ones.

• 2 Timothy 3:13 (NLT) — But evil people and impostors will flourish. They will deceive others and will themselves be deceived.

• 1 Timothy 4:1–2 (NLT) — 1 Now the Holy Spirit tells us clearly that in the last times some will turn away from the true faith; they will follow deceptive spirits and teachings that come from demons.

Examples of Teaching (Doctrine) of Demons

These teachings contain enough truth to deceive

1. HYPERGRACE: God is such a loving Got that He wants you to be happy and has already forgiven any sin you may commit so repentance isn’t really necessary because you are already forgivena. 1 John 1:7–10 (ESV) — 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the

light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. 8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

2. THE DENIAL OF THE DEITY OF CHRIST AS LORD AND SAVIOR a. Jesus was a good man and there are other many roads to heavenb. Acts 4:11–12 (ESV) — 11 This Jesus is the stone that was rejected by

you, the builders, which has become the cornerstone. 12 And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

These teachings contain enough truth to deceive

3. THE TRUTHS FOUND IN THE WORD OF GOD ARE NOT RELEVANT TODAYa. Abortion, Homosexual Agenda, Lavish Promiscuous Lifestylesb. Psalm 119:89 (ESV) — Forever, O LORD, your word is firmly fixed in

the heavens. c. Matthew 24:35 (ESV) Heaven and earth will pass away, but my

words will not pass away. d. John 17:17 (NLT) — Make them holy by your truth; teach them your

word, which is truth.

• 2 Thessalonians 2:7–12 (NLT) — 7 For this lawlessness is already at work secretly, and it will remain secret until the one who is holding it back steps out of the way. 8 Then the man of lawlessness will be revealed, but the Lord Jesus will slay him with the breath of his mouth and destroy him by the splendor of his coming. 9 This man will come to do the work of Satan with counterfeit power and signs and miracles. 10 He will use every kind of evil deception to fool those on their way to destruction, because they refuse to love and accept the truth that would save them. 11 So God will cause them to be greatly deceived, and they will believe these lies. 12Then they will be condemned for enjoying evil rather than believing the truth.

• Matthew 16:11–12 (ESV) — 11 How is it that you fail to understand that I did not speak about bread? Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.” 12 Then they understood that he did not tell them to beware of the leaven of bread, but of the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.

• Mark 8:15 (ESV) — And he cautioned them, saying, “Watch out; beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the leaven of Herod.”

BEWARD OF THE LEAVEN OF THE….

• Pharisees: Legalistic and Religious Gospel…list of rules

• Sadducees: A Powerless Gospel…show only and no power

• Herod: Hidden Agenda Gospel…what’s in it for me?
