Sigma Beton Lab. Services

Established by Baştaş Cement (%50) & Konya Cement (%50) in 2005

Three core laboratories 1. Concrete 2.Aggregate 3. Cement and chemicals

Intro

Sigma Beton Lab is established for servicing in construction materials as a concrete and concrete components lab at a constant location inSiteler.

The first aim for Sigma Beton serve a test and analyse service for our group company in concrete sector and then the other related companies

Scope

QUALITY SYSTEM• The quality system called TS EN ISO 17025:2005cover all test and analyses in Siteler and mobilelab services.• As Sigma Beton laboratories, we guarantee thatthe concrete and concrete component test forgroup affiliates and other establishments will beperformed within a liable, accurate and qualityservice framework.• The TS EN ISO 17025:2005 quality safety systemwhich we have developed, guarantees the testresults to be flawless, accurate and liable.• Sigma beton is member of TURKLAB that notifiedbody of EA in Turkey

Quality

Sigma carries out all of its activities with in the framework of the Quality Management System based on TS EN ISO/IEC 17025 General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories.

In 2014 the number of Sigma’ s standartds actively used and accredited in tests are 20.

At Sigma not only TS EN ISO/IEC 17025 internal audits are carried out by internal auditors who have sertificates but also external audits carried out as well by accreditated companies like TURKAK and TSE.

In the last external audit by TURKAK, Sigma have 4 minor deficiencies and was initiated corrective actions for this limited number of deficiencies.

Quality management system is constantly assessed and improved via mothly coordinated recruitment meetings and management review meeting which coordinated one time within a year.

TESTS AND STUDIES How to choose the right formulation for your building project ?

How to compare 2 cements ; which could be the best ? How to certify aggregates conformity ? How to control concrete performance for building site ? We can help you to make the good choice for your project ! Since its birth , SIGMA BETON is always searching new technologies for

classic concrete and specific concrete or another kind of specific

concrete for building.

Test & Studies

Cement Lab & Tests

TS EN 196-1 DETERMINATION OF COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH Compressive strength is one of the important criteria in determining the quality of cement. In this experiment certain mixing ratio of cement, sand and water are used. And using standard molds and in standart cure conditions 2, 7 and 28 day compressive strength is determined.

Cement Lab & Tests

TS EN 196-2: CHEMICAL ANALYSIS OF CEMENTLOSS ON IGNITION This sample is carried out for the determination of organic compounds and volatile compounds such as carbon dioxide, water in the cement,

Furnace which is at 900 OC used for this experiment.

TS EN 196-2 CHEMICAL ANALYSİS OF CEMENT INSOLUBLE RESİDUE

The insoluble residue means the amount of silica which is not involved in formation of the cement components.

Percentage of insoluble residue shows, the chemical reactions in cement production is fully developed or not.

Cement Lab & Tests

TS EN 196-2 CHEMİCAL ANALYSİS OF CEMENT GRAVİMETRİC DETERMİNATİON OF SULFATE

Sulfate is a compound that causes corrosion. Therefore, in concrete components it is desirable to not exceed certain levels.

It is determined by chemical analysis.

Cement Lab & Tests

Cement Lab & Tests

TS EN 196-3 CEMENT SETTING TIME Cement paste setting time is affected by a number of items including: cement fineness, water-cement ratio, chemical content (especially gypsum content) and admixtures.  Setting tests are used to characterize how a particular cement paste sets. For construction purposes, the initial set must not be too soon and the final set must not be too late. Additionally, setting times can give some indication of whether or not a cement is undergoing normal hydration.

Cement Lab & Tests

TS EN 196-6 DETERMINATION OF FINENESS The size of a cement particle has an important effect on the rate at which it will hydrate when exposed to water.  As it reacts, a layer of hydration product forms around the outside of the particle, separating the unreacted core of the particle from the surrounding water.  As this layer grows thicker, the rate of hydration slows down.  Therefore, a small particle will react much more quickly than a large particle.

Cement Lab & Tests

TS EN 480-10 DETERMINATION OF WATER SOLUBLE CHLORIDE CONTENT The object of the test is to determine the content of chloride ions (including other halogen ions exceptfluorides) in an admixture by precipitation of the chloride ions with a silver nitrate solution For this experiment recording pH millivoltmeter connected to an automatic burette and a combined electrod are used
