Lovers of poetry, chew on my poems created
For those suffering starvation and not elated
By caviar in cyclonic times of rousing rhymes
Of erotic and despotic maybe nonsense crimes.
.
ROSES ARE RED, BUT WOW!!! .
Roses are red and violets are blue, EINSTEIN WRONG: UFT PHYSICS, for you,
Is my mathematical revolution, But you don’t understand the solution.
How mathematical you must be
Is as happily mathematical as me, So it’s electric shocks to your brain,
And please don’t go completely insane. Accept my beloved physics paper now,
And I’ll have to proudly explain how
Albert Einstein got simple basics wrong
By using geometry that did not belong. That ruined his famous Special Relativity,
And let me create better geometry. .

AUSTRALIA, RUGGED COUNTRY
. Australia, rugged country of my birth,
Sparkling oceans surround us on Earth. Corals with bright fish inspire belief
In our exotic Barrier Reef. Many excited Australians sail
To watch gigantic, playful whales. Volcanic forces, wild and deranged,
Created our long Great Dividing Range. Bravely, we endure fierce fires and floods
As famous Ned Kelly lives in our blood. Where platypuses seem weird and shy,
We often hear kookaburras laugh up high. Home of echidnas and the boomerang, We loved songs our Nellie Melba sang. Now, people here have many choices, And unite with multi-cultural voices.
We are proud of bounding kangaroos, And proud of playing didgeridoos.
Gold and fame in sports for our best, We strive to win in every contest.

YUMMY PATISSERIE
. Yummy Patisserie of creamy, tasty coffee
Or strawberry milkshakes delicious for me
Or hot chocolate superb with marshmallows, I happily sit and chat with friendly fellows,
And love chai latte of herbs and spices right With sprinkled chocolate rousing my delight. Good staff, now bring a curry pie with peas
Or a yummy steak-and-kidney pie to please. Add a sausage roll or profiterole to start
With a lamington or lemon meringue tart. Your quiche tastes great, while rum truffle tastes rummy,
Rich, sweet and wild from my mouth to my tummy. Dear laughing staff, my mates, for sanity’s sake,
Oh, please, bring me orange-and-poppy-seed cake. .

ATOMS RHYTHMIC
.
Atoms rhythmic, atoms like tom-tom drums
in her body, too much, inspired tomcat atoms
of his human brain sending highs and hums
of phantom messages to his body's atoms
soon tom-tom rhythmic and tom-tom wild
for atoms of lust after atoms of dreams,
more powerful than an explosion, not mild,
of atoms here where atoms rule supreme.

FORCED INTO A PSYCHOTIC OFFICE
.
Forced into a psychotic office, too sane,
I said, "I don't know what I have to explain".
Vindictive, the psychiatrist asked, "What problems
do you suffer, because I spy inner mayhem".
Feeling trapped, I replied, "Gambling, good and pure";
so she declared, "Risperidone is the cure".
Inspired, I declared, "You must be crazy, fool";
and she glared at me like a mad dog at school.
Oh no, I didn't like my predicament
and I tried to escape as my freedom went.
Soon, mental health staff behaved crazily,
and injected anti-psychotics into me.
That psychiatrist had a weird mutation
to destroy my good health and reputation.

TODAY EPILEPTIC
.
Today, epileptic, I am scared of sun's pride
and have not opened my curtains wide.
Last night, too drowsy to experience highs,
I badly burnt four little apple pies
and ate them before they could cry.
It's Father's day and I am hoping for fun,
for phone-calls to excite me, from my sons.
At least, important when grass grows wildly,
my fuelled mower awaits me faithfully.
Oh hell, three days of filthy crockery,
and cutlery, need washing fast to be free.
Not hungry, I don't even feel like eating goat
as eager pills want to jump down my throat.
Now, I open my curtains wide and say,
"Where, oh where have my neighbours gone today?"

PEANUTS GALORE
.
Peanuts galore, roasted and salted, never brave,
you do not know sinusoidal electromagnetic waves.
Peanuts galore, you're crunched and munched too true,
and my bright computer screen cannot dazzle you.
Oh nuts, you should have been humanly clever,
and gone to the Botanic Gardens in sunny weather.
You should have seen beautiful orchids were great to see,
but you do not feel loneliness and happiness of me.
Peanuts galore, Julian Assange is going for selection
into our Australian Senate at our national election.

ZOOMING THROUGH NEW EQUATIONS
. Zooming through new equations past space and time,
zooming from placid life to spontaneous rhyme, here I go, as eager as a dashing photon of light, across this world and this universe of delight, forever or never in questions for few answers, for me proud to be one of the cosmic dancers.

LIGHTNING LIBIDO
.
LIGHTNING LIBIDO,
WE ALL KNOW, KNOW, KNOW
YOU FLASH AROUND, AROUND
WITH SUDDEN SOUNDS.
LIGHTNING LIBIDO,
YOU DYNAMO, DYNAMO,
YOU BRIGHTEN THE PARTY, PARTY
WITH WORDS SO ARTY.
LIGHTNING LIBIDO,
WE ALL KNOW, KNOW, KNOW
YOU SPY WITH WILD EYES, WILD EYES
FOR OTHERS RISING HIGH.
LIGHTNING LIBIDO,
YOU DYNAMO, DYNAMO,
HOLD YOUR LOVER, LOVER, LOVER
AND SHAKE EACH OTHER.
SHAKE ALL NIGHT!
SHAKE ALL NIGHT!
LIGHTNING LIBIDO,
SHAKE ALL NIGHT, SHAKE ALL NIGHT.

GLORIOUS MORNING'S GOLDEN
.
Glorious, morning's golden sun arose,
so thriving birds flew by where scent flows,
and, idiosyncratic, silly anew,
I kindly asked, "Would you like to be stew?"
A bit of a bird, a pretty woman said,
"Do you mean me in your stew all too dead?"
Striving to act normal, I laughed quite fair,
then she asked, "What mess are you doing there?"
Proud of myself, I said, "Here, beyond strife,
I am concentrating on the real life."
Not liking dribble, she looked at my scribble,
so I ripped up my poem for a nibble.
Too inspired, she ran away to drink wine,
and clouds obliterated my sunshine.

DARK IS THE NIGHT
.
Dark is the night as I sit here and type
Jumbled letters about philosophy ripe
Like cherries too edible and sweet,
But from my brain with the crazy beat
Of my heart made of pumpkin pie
With pepper please and don’t ask why
In this world full of logical reasons
As illogical as tornedos in season.

NOW, THIS SONNET I WRITE
.
Now, this sonnet I write, too much in old age
although I loved youth with passion and rage
too exciting but not exciting enough
as I chased after my girlfriend too tough,
looking sweet, innocent and feminine
and never truly entirely mine
as she pretended she was all loyal
and this king was her favourite royal.
Lies, lies, lies with energetic romance,
words seemed wild for our mattress of dance,
our passion never really based on love
but based on excitement with one above.
These days, I always sleep and snore alone,
satisfied that I am more than mere bone.

HAPPINESS YOU SCREAM
.
"Happiness!" you scream, so quickly I yell,
"Don't give up. It's not impossible."
But you cry for better life, then sigh
as sun shines between funny clouds up high.
Oh, you laugh at the joke, delirious,
so I tell you, "This joke is serious."
Alive, a butterfly flaps by our lull,
and you declare, "It is beautiful!"
so I agree, with true sincerity,
and weirdly you ask, "Why do you agree?"
Oh, I see you like a butterfly for fun
as, enticing, you see me like the sun
for your eyes absorbing light of sight,
and, aroused, I feel your ticklish delight.

EYE-TO-EYE, DEAR LADY
.
Eye-to-eye, dear lady of zesty youth,
we try to find the fountain of best truth
as I can spy you are beyond belief
and you can spy, so far from lonely grief,
I am loving you so sweet feminine
you're truly divine telling you you're mine,
now my romantic love seems explosive,
far from boredom that seems too corrosive,
so real joy is being eye-to-eye now
and you're a wonderful you knowing how
I'm trying to be a wonderful me
wild for your love as I'm entirely free
up high where there's human music inside
and you're my great, innocent, cosmic bride.

PRETENDING TO BE A CHEF
. Pretending to be a chef, with me to convince, I put more than one kilogram of beef mince
into my slow cooker I love more every day
as cooking is my favourite, creative play. Always impressive, cut-up onion improved that Because nobody wise likes a meal tasting flat.
A favourite food, chopped-up capsicum
added flavour to make this creator hum. Nutritious dates and prunes, great with meat,
were cut into little pieces to make it sweet. Seeds and nuts added extra texture around,
And a bottle of bolognaise sauce plopped down. Two cups of mushrooms were mixed in great,
And three spoons of herbs and spices made fate, really made it so good I was suspicious
as I cooked it for three hours until delicious. Ravenous, I could not stop from my antics
of eating so my belly became gigantic. .

SLEEPY! FEELING SLEEPY. VERY SLEEPY.

WHY OH WHY DOES IT ATTRACT ME SO MUCH?
IT’S ALL VERY WEIRD. WEIRDER THAN I EXPECTED AT SCHOOL.
WHY DID I END UP LIKE THIS?
I’M A COMPUTER NERD. ADDICTED. VERY ADDICTED.

GOING TO VISIT MY CANCER SPECIALIST
.
Going to visit my cancer specialist,
I got on the tilt train in morning mist,
and, too shocked, found that hospital staff
hadn't booked my ticket- so not a laugh!
Liking efficiency, I didn't expect
such confusion, but railway staff inspect
such stuff, and soon organised my seat
for me happily not suffering defeat.
For my health, my travel should have been free
when I payed that exorbitant fee.
Born with an eager tongue sometimes a pain,
I was a loud chatterbox on the train
until talking exhausted my powers
after I quickly talked for incessant hours.
Out off the train, madly gambling I went,
and almost missed my doctor's appointment.
Alleluia, going back was worse than that,
because, after putting on my coat and hat,
suddenly, I woke up, without elation,
to find the train was leaving my station.
Panicking, I banged on windows urgently
and swore so they stopped the train for me.

AT MAROOCHY RIVER, WHERE CRABBERS ROVE
.
At Maroochy River, where crabbers rove,
I was walking through mud and mangroves.
Unexpected, uninvited, not ignored,
severe pain happened worse than ever before.
Oh my god, shocked, suffering ridiculous pain,
I leapt up high and yelled something insane.
My enemy, absolute torture, and sadly put,
a large crab-claw was grasping my left foot.
Broken from a mudcrab, holding my toes,
the claw was difficult to remove, oh no!

YESTERDAY, IN ONLY TWO
.
Yesterday, in only two minutes, inspired,
with a broken index finger, I admired
pretty colours as I painted gorgeous sea
as an A4 picture so, miraculously,
my Candy Seascape looks emotional,
great, and I am feeling devotional,
going to put a hundred dollars on it
at an exhibition for fun and profit.
Somebody will think my picture wonderful,
then buy it and cherish it on their wall.
For about ten minutes, I will cherish
the money until I spend it, and wish
that all of my artworks, as each a gift,
happened so spontaneously and swift.

PSYCHIATRIC VISIT
. (In a Mental Health Clinic, there are four people. One woman
goes to the receptionist.) PATIENT: Hello! I am Jasmine Kloody. I am here to see Dr
Prudence. RECEPTIONIST: Sorry! Your psychiatrist cannot see you today. He
has urgent, important business to attend to. You will see Dr Zamia, today. Go outside to smoke and drink coffee.
PATIENT: Okay. I don’t want to go outside because I do not smoke and do not drink coffee. Is it safe to sit here?
POPPY POETRY © by Peter Donald Rodgers, Australia, 8/01/204. 2014 Genius of the Year (Asia) WGD Page 26
RECEPTIONIST: Of course, it’s safe- just like in any major bank. PATIENT: It must be government policy to employ comedians
here. Did you know that this is a mental health clinic?
(Dr Prudence walks out of his office with golf clubs.) DR PRUDENCE: I will be back tomorrow for some important
appointments. PATIENT: Look at me! I’m more important than your bloody golf.
DR ZAMIA: Is there a Jasmine Kloody here? Jasmine Kloody! PATIENT: I am Jasmine Kloody!
DR ZAMIA: Hello. I am Dr Phil Zamia. Please follow me to my office.
PATIENT: Okay. (They enter the office and sit down. )
DR ZAMIA: How have you been feeling?
PATIENT: Every psychiatrist asks me that. Can’t you be creative and original? How the Sucking Hell have you not been feeling?
DR ZAMIA: I am a psychiatrist, an elite person on an excellent wage to perform my job properly. So, do not victimise me. Answer the question I asked. How have you been feeling?
PATIENT: I have been feeling like a giant jellyfish that has been swallowed by a whale dining in a Japanese restaurant.
DR ZAMIA: How long have these delusions been happening?
PATIENT: That was a joke! How do I know how I am feeling? I usually feel with my fingers. That is how I feel. Do you
understand me?
POPPY POETRY © by Peter Donald Rodgers, Australia, 8/01/204. 2014 Genius of the Year (Asia) WGD Page 27
DR ZAMIA: What I understand, after my years of education, is that you need your anti-psychotics trebled and your anti-
depressives quadrupled for success. PATIENT: Is this a casino? Most chase after a jackpot, but you
chase after a crackpot! If the person is sane, you add drugs until the person is a crackpot! You want to call everybody
schizophrenic, bipolar, depressive, etcetera. What is wrong with calling me a lovely, normal woman? That is what I am!
DR ZAMIA: Guards! Guards! This woman suffers delusions of grandeur and grandiose dreams and paranoid hallucinations.
Take her away! She is going to the psychiatric unit for about six months until she treats a good psychiatrist with respect.
PATIENT: This has all been recorded. You are acting against human rights. Know that I am a member of the Federal Police.
(Three guards arrive. ) DR ZAMIA: Put her in a straitjacket! Put her in solitary isolation for a week! Force her to smoke cigarettes and copious amounts
of coffee! She is evil! PATIENT: How much are the drug companies paying you? You
are a pathetic non-human! (The guards drag her away. )
DR ZAMIA: Next! .

FAST BUS ALONG
. Fast bus along, my magic ride of song
So yahoo anew, going fast as I belong
With a cosmic blast needing more people
Heeding fresh joys, down from high steeples, Happy growling and howling as chosen folk
Fully aware of swift velocity’s joke, We declare ‘cheese’ to brilliant flashes
Of houses rushing past as wild dashes
In retrogressive progression with the best For those impressed yippee-doo and blessed
Within this holy kaleidoscope going places
Of colours and hope reflecting off faces
On this trip, this eternal journey today
As we die to fly, fly up, up and away. .

BRAIN, WHETHER SANE OR INSANE
. Brain, whether sane or insane, be forever Clever with millions of neurones together
With millions of memories from my history, In convolutions of no solutions to mystery,
Until solutions for me human or bird-brained, Mostly a nerd of brain-waves fated and trained
To be complicated and too often medicated, Wise you use logic and illogic to be elated
With epileptic truth too unreal but real, Electric impulses so all convulses and feels
In two hemispheres full of loves and fears, thinking
For thinking’s sake and no fake after me drinking
Sweet wine divine for sweet intoxication, To be dictator of my body with gyrations.

EXHAUSTED, A GLADIATOR
.
Exhausted, a gladiator gone too far,
I conquered and conquered as a brilliant star
Overwhelming other stars and stealing glory
Too much like a film-star with an ugly story
Of exotic, neurotic, erotic ego
Striving to be a charismatic dynamo.
Some of us are extraverted fools inspired
To entertain audiences with magic fire
We swallow for fun and boisterous laughter
Enlivening our hearts for now and hereafter.
Courageous I am with my warrior gene
That makes me feel invincible and mean.
Too topsy-turvy in this world of offensive rats,
Watch me battle against loudmouthed bureaucrats.

GOOD LUCK TO YOU

Good luck to you, sweet darling,
with diamond eyes now sparkling.
Your love is wonderful,
and, o god, you're an angel
who's flying through my heart
revolving from the start.

Pretending that I'm stupendous,
I really think you're tremendous.
