Species/Genera
Building the phylogenies
• Searched and raided GenBank with species lists using Gene finder python script (Ron Lanfear)
• Used three best sampled plas=d markers – rbcL, matK, ndhF
• Aligned sequences and concatenated – Maff-‐T and Sequencematrix
• Analyses in CIPRES portal using RAxML Blackbox
Tropical Northern Australia 1976 species = 27%
1018 genera = 65%

Future Direc=ons • Are these results correct? • Is there too much missing data?
• Framework now in place – Collec=on target lists – Sequence Alignments – Spa=al data
• Build on this framework – New collec=ons – New sequences – Improve calibra=ons
