The National University of Mongolia (NUM), was established in 1942 and is the oldest university in Mongolia. Throughout more than seven decades NUM has played a fundamental role in creating, promoting and strengthening capacities in contemporary scientific research nationwide.

NUM has educated generations of professional people for the government, public sector, and industry. Graduates of NUM have had, and will continue to play, a leading role in the political, scientific, socio-economic, cultural, and academic development of the nation.

In the 21st century, NUM remains a great university distinguished by quality education and research in sciences, social sciences and humanities. The university is distinguished by the number of fundamental and applied advanced research and intellectual products applied to industry and business.

NUM is a globalizing university that pursues freedom of exchange of people, knowledge and information. The academic community of the university is truly multicultural. Scholars from different countries work together towards research advancement and academic curriculum enhancement and preparation of students of all ages. Thanks to our global alumni, we serve societies and communities worldwide, promote Mongolia and its values overseas, and contribute to democracy, development and peace in the world.

The university has one main and five branch libraries at the five schools that contain circa 471000 books in Mongolian, English and Russian as well as academic journals and periodicals. The center owns an electronic database of its collections that are available to students and staff alike. It is a comfortable studying facility for all students.

DORMITORY SERVICE

The University has 5 dormitories and a special dormitory for international students and scholars. Students from the provinces of Mongolia can apply to live in the University’s student dormitory and the student union is active in facilitating the students.

IT SUPPORT UNIT

The university has an IT support unit that supplies the university internet service. The unit provides maintenance service to all schools, departments, laboratories and offices. Students may use the wireless network and built in PCs that are available in the building as well as study areas and school laboratories.

FINANCIAL AID

According to the Order No. 96 of the Government of Mongolia, students are eligible for below-mentioned financial grants and loans and those who have high grades benefit additional grants:

I. Soft loans of tuition fees

Students from households living below the minimum living standard by estimation of the National Statistical office of Mongolia.

Students with disabled family members and retired parents.

Students from a single parent household who are considered to be living below the minimum living standard by estimation of the National Statistical office.

Loans and grants are available for the impoverished or herder households with three or more siblings who study at an accredited high education institution. A civil servant household’s one child is eligible for a state grant if they attend an undergraduate or graduate program of a higher education institution.

Students enrolling in the Graduate program to earn a MBA and PhD degrees whose previous academic achievement demonstrate a GPA of 3.5 and above qualify to access the State Study Fund loan.

II. Grants

Orphans without caregivers and people with disabilities from underprivileged households are eligible for a state grant.

III. Tuition Fee Award

Students who won awards at an International Olympiad or an equally prestigious international competitions.

Students who placed as one of the lead three in the national Olympiad in their senior year of high school.

Students with a GPA of 3.8 and above during their last four semesters of their study and have earned all required credits are eligible to be awarded the tuition fee.

Chronicles

The National University of Mongolia was founded. (with Pedagogical, Medical and Zoo-Veterinarian Faculties).

The first issue of the “Journal of Scientific Letters” was published.The first graduation ceremony was held for 35 graduates.

Faculties of Chemistry and Biology were founded. The Pedagogical Faculty was separated and became a Pedagogical Institute.

The program of geology was introduced. The Faculty of Agriculture became an independent University as a Institute of Agriculture (Presently, the Mongolian University of Agriculture).

The Programs of Geology, Mechanical engineering were introduced. The Medical Faculty separated from the University and became a Medical institute (Presently, the University of Health Scences).

The Institute of Russian Language separated from the University (It is now the University of Humanities).

New structure of NUM

70th Anniversary of NUM

Ulaanbaatar University and the Institute of Commerce and business were merged into NUM.

The Governing Board was established.

The Institute of Mathematics was incorporated into the University.

The Poly-Technical Institute was separated from the University and became the University of Science and Technology.

The School of Arts and Sciences (SAS) was newly organized in 2013 based on existing programs, long-held academic tradition, scholarly excellence and models of the world’s most renowned universities.

The School of Arts and Sciences will help NUM achieve its mission and goal of becoming a leading research university. SAS also includes the Foreign Language Training Center. This unprecedented school is the first in the country to offer basic knowledge and skills in liberal arts.

The three academic divisions of SAS are united by its broader commitment and challenge to providing students with a better education in arts and sciences. Graduate programs offering advanced degrees in the fundamental disciplines of natural, social sciences as well as humanities are unrivaled in the country.

Many of the SAS faculty members are recognized leaders in their respective disciplines. They provide students with hands-on research experience by involving students at all levels in faculty-led research projects. The majority of the country’s intellectuals have graduated from this school. One of the missions of SAS will be to provide lifelong learners and working professionals with a range of educational opportunities.

The SAS is the home of the majority of NUM undergraduates, offering the majority of academic degree programs and courses. The SAS defines the campus-wide core curriculum of the university and serves students across all five NUM schools. It strives to offer broad and deep educational and learning experiences and lay the foundation of knowledge and skills required from today’s graduates and tomorrow’s professionals. DIVISION OF NATURAL SCIENCESSince the establishment of NUM in 1942, the Division of Natural sciences has been continuously furthering its scientific exertions and the school has been restructured into six departments.

Mathematics The involved departments are equipped with chemical, physical, biological and geographical research and training laboratories, and sustain professional quarters and field stations in the taiga-forest and forest-steppe areas The division runs training courses for secondary school teachers in professional didactics that focus on educational qualification evaluation with special credits by the approval of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science The respective departments in addition, organize the national professional Olympiads for pre-college students in the field of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Geography

Departments Overview

Archaeology and Anthropology /DAA/ Established in 1995, the DAA offers both graduate and undergraduate programs in anthropology and archaeology DAA has a well-equipped laboratory, and a large collection of anthropological and archaeological findings revealed from different historical periods in Mongolia Archaeological and anthropological fieldwork is an important part of the department’s training DAA organizes summer field school in anthropology and archaeology

Economics /DE/ The DE developed the country’s pioneer program on economic studies and the nation’s leading faculty members are educating students in the field of economic theory as well as working to elucidate economic reform during the transition period

Education and Psychology /DEP/ The DEP developed the country’s pioneer program on economic studies and the nation’s leading faculty members are educating students in the field of economic theory as well as working to elucidate economic reform during the transition period

Journalism and Public Relations /DJPR/ Found in 1961, the DJPR offers undergraduate and graduate programs on mass media and press, TV, radio and photojournalism

Sociology and Social Works /DSSW/ The faculties at the Department of Sociology and Social Works perform research on various areas and topics of the society, such as social difference, classes, spare time, life style, social phenomenon, crime, citizens’ political activity, poverty, immigration etc

Political Science /DPS/ Established in 1990, the DPS offers both undergraduate and graduate programs in politics The staff of the department performed the research projects, entitled: Mongolian Political System and Process, Political Development, Ideologies of Mongolian Political Parties, Political Culture and Consciousness, Comparative Analysis of Election Systems and Political systems of East Asia

Departments Overview

Philosophy and Religion Studies /DPRS/

The DPRS offers a wide range of programs which cover the various traditions, contentions and theories of philosophy, religion and history It provides an education of the basic philosophical concepts, prevalent religions of the world including the history of philosophy, morality, aesthetics, metaphysics and epistemology

History /DH/ The DH offers both undergraduate and graduate programs in history, archive studies, and teacher of history and social sciences The foremost ambition of the department is to become a leading research and teaching institution specialized on history of Mongolia of Qing period and the 20th century

Mongolian Language and Linguistics /DMLL/

The DMLL offers undergraduate and graduate courses in mother language, scripts, culture and the anthologies in Mongolian, Tibetan and Manchurian

Literature and Art Studies /DLAS/

The DLA trains scholars and teachers of literature, media specialists and arts professionals The department studies the rich heritage of Mongolian classic literature and folk tales and characteristics of the Mongolian language It also educates teachers, specialists with the language and culture studies

British and American Studies DBAS/

The DBAS offers undergraduate and graduate programs in its day and evening courses majoring in English language and literature, TEFL, American studies, British studies and translation Its BA programs were accredited in 2013

European Studies /DES/ The DES educates the professionals in the fields of Russian, French, German, Czech, Slovak, Polish, Bulgarian, Spanish and Italian studies In 2013, programs of German Language and Studies, Russian Language and Studies, and French Language and Studies were accredited by the National Council of Higher Education Accreditation

Asian Studies /DAS/ The DAS conducts academic programs under 13 curriculums, namely: Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Turkish and Arabic studies (language and area studies) In 2013 by the Mongolian National Council for Education Accreditation, respective syllabus were accredited for some of these programs, including Chinese language study, Japanese study and Korean study as well as Turkish study

The Foreign Language Training Center was established 4 years ago and it involves about 60 English language teachers and instructors that conduct classes for more than 7000 students throughout all schools of NUM. The center is currently engaged in curriculum innovation.

School of Engineering and Applied Sciences is a newly founded School at NUM as a result of NUM’s reorganization in December, 2013. SEAS adopted programs and curriculums relate to Engineering, Technology and Applied Sciences from the School of Mathematics and Computer Science, School of Information Technology,

School of Geography and Geology, School of Biology and Biotechnology, School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, School of Physics and Electronics and the School of Economics, all of which constituted previous parts of NUM.

SEAS consists of 4 Professional Departments and a number of Research Centers in order to fulfill research and education programs. SEAS hosted 114 faculty members including 18 professors, 30 associate professors, 53 teachers, 13 emeritus professors, departments’ assistants, and the other part-time teachers and teaching assistants at the 4 professional departments.

Its schools academic council, dean’s advisory committee, school’s curriculum committee and, student service office works at SEAS in order to organize, and serve each research and education programs.

SEAS aspire to be the leading center of the country’s technical development and a nation-wide base of information that will be utile for crisis solving.

DEPARTMENT OF APPLIED MATHEMATICSThe scientific research of applied mathematics in Mongolia was founded in the field of numerical mathematics in 1962. The department of differential equations and numerical mathematics was established at NUM in 1993 and soon after, in 1996, the name was changed to the department of applied mathematics as its research areas expanded to include nonlinear and differential equations, numerical mathematics, optimization, control theory and others. After the structural change of the university in 2014, the Department of Applied Mathematics now hosts over 30 faculty members who are working in such diverse research areas as numerical mathematics, statistics, actuarial mathematics, financial mathematics, mathematical optimization, control theory, mathematical modeling, image processing, simulation, logistics, operations research, risk analysis, forecasting, meteorology and hydrology.

DEPARTMENT OF INFORMATION AND COMPUTER SCIENCEThe establishment of the Department of Calculation in 1982 at NUM was the pioneering base of the computer science division in Mongolia. Since then, study programs and technological bases were steadily improved. The Department of Computer Programming was formed at the School of Mathematics and Computer Science in 1993 and educated professional computer programmers.

The Department of Information and Computer Science set up in 2014 after NUM’s reorganization, and unified all the study programs and teaching staffs involved in Computer Science, Information System and Information Technology, Information Management and Bioinformatics, at NUM.

The Department of Information and Computer Science offers bachelor programs in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, and Information Systems; master programs in Computer Science and Bioinformatics; and doctor programs in Computer Science.

DEPARTMENT OF ELECTRONICS AND COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING

In 1965, the Department’s foundation was to train radio-physicians and radio-electricians. Due to rapid developments in techniques and technology electronic engineers were in growing demand in Mongolia, therefore NUM formed the very first class of electronics in 1990 and saw its first graduation ceremony in 1994.

In 2014 the organizational changes of NUM unified the Department of Electronics and the Department of Communication Technology and thus came to be the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering.

Young specialists educated in well developed countries make up the majority of the School’s teaching staff and many projects are run by these capable scholars. With the results used in manufacturing the Department is already gaining the leading status in the sector, as the framework of research has expanded in the following areas:

Mission:

The mission is to develop research based hierarchy study programs on applied sciences and engineering fields, to strengthen diverse and interdisciplinary research, and to create applicable knowledge in practice to solve national and global challenges.

The department was established in 2014 due to the structural changes of NUM. Currently there are 9 study programs at undergraduate level, 10 master’s programs and 6 doctoral programs running and all levels in the same field are linked to each other.

In order to advance its business programs and furthering opportunities for continuous growth; the School effectively collaborates with independent organizations such as the National Accreditation Council of Mongolia and the Accreditation Council for Business Schools that endorses the School’s programs and furthermore the business programs offered at the School were all granted approval by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs.

HISTORICAL BACKGROUNDSince the School’s foundation in 1947, as a social science faculty with economics and history programs; the values and present-day nature of the school has been nurtured steadily over the past seven decades. The recent higher education reform in Mongolia restructured several public colleges and universities and the academic staff and some of the programs offered at various institutions such as the former School of Economics, School of Commerce and Business, Faculty of Geography & Geology, and NUM merged altogether to form the Business School.

Since its establishment the school immediately recognized as the country’s best school in economics and business studies. In its history the school has been educating several generations of economists and business leaders throughout the nation and successfully continues its tradition. The school has continuously updated its curriculum and the course structure to better meet the social and labor market needs.

The School of Law of the National University of Mongolia is a top ranking law school in the country. The School employs approximately 60 leading professors, lecturers and researchers and offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs in law. HISTORICL BACKGROUNDIn 1960, the University launched the very first legal education in Mongolia and later the Humanities faculty of NUM created the first program in law. In 1991, NUM established the Faculty of Law. In 1994, it was renamed the School of Law. The majority of Mongolia’s lawyers have graduated from this Faculty and we still keep friendly relations with all our graduates. The School of Law has established cooperation with several top ranking universities of the world. It seeks to interact with the wide community of people who have an interest in the study of law, whether it be locally, nationally, regionally or globally. Until 2015 the School of Law traditionally has consisted of departments of legal theory, constitutional, criminal, civil and international law. Since 2015 it has been reorganized and currently works with two departments as the Public Law Department and Private Law Department.

LEGAL CLINIC OR PRACTICAL AND TRAINING CENTERSince 1999, the School of Law launched a successful clinical program and its main purpose combines theoretical and practical knowledge that helps students master a lawyer’s proficiency via providing legal representation to individuals and organizations alike. In addition students of School of law do internship programs in state and legal organizations. Students are given the opportunity to do professional training at legal offices and can use an internship to define their interest in a particular legal career, establish a network of contacts or gain school credit.

RESEARCH AND EDUCATION CENTER FOR JAPANESE LAWThis is an international legal centre aims to educate undergraduate students of the School of Law. With cooperative assistance from Nagoya University, it provides special knowledge of Japanese law and comparative perspectives to students. As all the classes are conducted in Japanese, students are required to be fluent in Japanese. Since its establishment in 2006, the centre has produced quality graduates with highly sophisticated teaching method. Students graduated from the centre with honors have chances to study in master courses of universities in Japan such as Nagoya University, through strong support of scholarship from Japanese government and private funds.

INTERNATIONAL AND COMPARATIVE LAW CENTERThis center was established in 2003. The main purpose of the center is to conduct comparative researches. Center emphasizes the instrumental and dynamic role of law in shaping our contemporary and globalized world. The center for International and Comparative Law promotes the study and understanding of international and comparative law, and of the political and economic institutions that support the international legal order.

KOREAN LAW EDUCATION CENTERThe students of program study the Legal system of Republic of Korea along with the mongolian legal system. Kookmin University of Republic of Korea implements this program in Mongolia. Also, Faculty members of the Kookmin University and the School of Law have already conducted various joint legal researches.

HISTORICAL BACKGROUNDThe School of Foreign Service was founded in 1990 as an affiliate of the NUM. Within the restructure of NUM, this school became the School of International Relations and Public Administration in 2014. The school conducts training programs and research in international relations and public administration at Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctoral levels. In the framework of two main priorities, the School performs research in international relations and international economic relations as well as graduate programs in three respective fields of international relations, international economic relations and public administration-public policy. Our curriculum provides our students the training to address the domestic and international issues and an expansion of their understanding in the field.

In 2015, the School of International Relations and Public Administration plans to stay more active by participating in the regional universities’ action by developing academic cooperation and implementing international joint programs. By bringing together modern training and research, the School of International Relations and Public Administration aims to expand advanced research on development policy in Mongolia but also to contribute to regional development and education of human resources able to solve political, economic, social and cultural issues at local, regional and national levels .

The School cooperates with other diplomatic academies, institutes, and universities around the world. STUDENT ACTIVITIESThe School would provide students with an opportunity to involve in the student-exchange and scholarship programs. Student Council is in charge of promoting and protecting students’ interests and rights and organizes activities for training, research and other extracurricular activities. The Diplomat club, a part of the council, invites foreign and domestic scholars as well as senior diplomats to deliver lectures to students.

During the students’ annual session of a ‘Mini-UN’ model, students acquire the skills to represent their country and create diplomatic protocols. The Department of Diplomatic Translation annually organizes a Foreign Language Festival among the students. This festival celebrates the learning of foreign languages and cultures and provides an opportunity to demonstrate language proficiency and achievement.

The Graduate school of the National University of Mongolia develops and circulates University policies related to graduate education and serves about 4000 doctoral, master’s and professional degree students in all five schools of the University. For more than 50 years, NUM has excelled in institutional leadership for the national

doctoral programs in the country. Currently the university hosts 13 doctoral dissertation national committees out of 29 in the country for disciplines such as mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, geography, environmental studies, Mongolian language and literature, journalism, philosophy, religious studies, sociology, economics, political science, law, history, anthropology, archeology, business, and social work.

The Graduate School of the university is a virtual institution that formulates policy concerning the graduate education substance and process as well as the evaluation. The School further monitors the academic quality of degree programs and manages students’ educational progress from admission to graduation in all five schools including the branch Schools in the provinces.

In addition to providing a University wide graduate policy direction, the Graduate School administrates postgraduate research management, provides professional development programs and events, provides consultation and guidance to foreign students and researchers’ visiting, training and credit transfers, and collaborates with other local universities and the Ministry of Education and Sciences on improving general rules and regulations set by the latter and reporting.

NUM has been awarding master and PhD degrees since 1995. We aspire to recruit and retain the country’s most promising graduate students.

Each year, the University receives about 1000-1200 applications and after written examinations and interviews, admits about 700 applicants. Master program’s admission requires an already obtained bachelor degree from recognized tertiary institutions. NUM has research based and professional master programs. Research master programs consist of 17 credit coursework (core subjects and electives) and 4 credit independent research and 9 credit Master thesis writing and a defense. Professional master programs consist of 32 credit points in coursework and internships. The duration of the master programs is 1.5-2 years.

Students who hold M.A/M. Sc. degrees from recognized tertiary institutions are eligible to apply to PhD programs that consist of 30 credit points in coursework and 30 credits in independent research and dissertation writing and a defense. The duration of the PhD programs is 3 years. A doctoral student will undertake research within a domain under the supervision of a professor, and complete the research with a dissertation. He/she is required to write scientific articles, give presentations at research conferences and seminars as well as performing teaching and research assistantship duties. In 2014-2015 academic year, about 54 graduate students have worked as full time research assistants.

The graduate programs are conducted in Mongolian. Full time graduate students are eligible for the State scholarship.

The School ensures that the University continues to offer innovative, high quality graduate education. In 2014-2015 academic year, the Graduate School together with the General and Sub-Curriculum Committees of the University has worked solely on improving the existing master and doctoral programs’ curriculums and creating more interdisciplinary graduate programs such as natural resource management, biotechnology, geographical information system, new materials technology, land management, Buddhist philosophy, public administration, and regional studies. For the coming 2015-2016 academic year, Graduate School plans to implement a university wide policy of implementing newly adopted graduate programs and TA, RA and AA systems.

HISTORICAL BACKGROUNDOrkhon School of NUM was founded in Erdenet in 1992 as the Foreign Language Institute of National Pedagogical University by the decree of Educational Minister and the resolution #284/85 by the Executive Administration of People’s Deputy Hural of Erdenet City. The institute latter expanded into the NUM branch under the decree #105 by Minister of Enlightenment dated Oct.30 with the goal to make it the regional academic and scientific center according to government resolution #15 dated Jan 20, 2010. By resolution #36 by Minister of Education Culture and Science our school became one of the main institutes and by resolution #529 dated Aug 27, 2010 one of the sector of NUM was named the Orkhon School of the National Institute of Mongolia.

The school opened on Sep 1, 1992, with 5 teachers and 75 students majoring in “English-Russian translation” and “English-Russian teacher” and the first graduation was held four years later with the first 35 graduates receiving diplomas of “English translation” and “English teacher.”

The School was founded as the School of Business and Technology in 1974 but renamed in 1999 as the Zavkhan Province Economics Campus of the National University of Mongolia. In 2010, the School was renamed as the Zavkhan School of the National University of Mongolia.

As of today, the School’s building contains 960 seats, with 21 classrooms and faculty rooms and the dormitory can accommodate up to 200 students. The school has five internet connected computer labs comprising of 15 and 30 computers, respectively. The school library seats 180 with more than 16, 000 books and textbooks.

Among these lines, the School maintains agreements with other schools and organizations from Russia, China, South Korea, The US Peace Corps, and East-West Cultural and Development Agency of South Korea.

The School plans to add new professional majors in the future that will focus on the labor market of the western region of Mongolia and will offer training programs combined with research.

RESEARCH ACTIVITIESMore than 30 lecturers of the school have defended their thesis and are pursuing a doctorate degree and the School is endeavoring to achieve the same level of research work as other schools within the NUM.

The lecturers have produced about 150 scientific reports for science and theory practical conferences that were held at the School and in the aimag regions, as well as in foreign countries. Furthermore, the lecturers have published about 60 articles in professional domestic journals and international journals. The research center has worked on 10 commissioned projects independently and collaborated with foreign and domestic organizations. With a main goal of researching the regional characteristics, economics, and realities of social development in the western region of Mongolia, the Center is tasked with finding ways to solve the problems facing that area and to provide that information along with methodologies to the regional governments.

The Office of the University Registrar is a student-centered office that supports teaching and learning at NUM by maintaining the integrity of academic policies and guidelines. We closely work with students from application to degree conferral in perpetuity by keeping their records.

THE MAIN ACTIVITIES OF THE OFFICE OF THE UNIVERSITY REGISTRAR ARE AS FOLLOWS:

Development and implementation of the academic calendar for each academic year;

Support the University Curriculum Committees which consists of the leading scholars and professors. The Office is responsible for the implementation and monitoring of the approved curriculums and syllabus and give suggestions for improvement;

Responsible for the maintaining the laws of Mongolia, the policies and guidelines of NUM for academic activities at the University;

Management of all the student records starting from student application, registration to graduation and afterwards;

Implementing program quality assurance activities.

Furthermore, the Office receives petitions and complaints from the students, analyses student satisfaction based on ongoing survey and audits the teachers’ classroom performance. The Office works for creating favorable learning environment for students.

DEPARTMENT OF INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS AND COOPERATION: Managing inter-university and inter-organization partnerships

Coordinating international scholarship programs, e.g. ERASMUS MUNDUS, AUSAID, Fulbright, Eurasia.

NUM was selected as the joint coordinator of the GATE program. UNINET Austria, UMAP- University Mobility in Asia, the ERASMUS MUNDUS TACTIC program and the pacific strongly support an academic capacity building of young scholars and the NUM faculty.

NOBLE PRIZE LECTURE SERIESThe Noble Prize Lecture Series has been held in Mongolia since 2010, initiated by the former NUM president professor S. Tumur-Ochir. So far, the NUM hosted four Noble Lectures in the fields of physics and chemistry. The main goal of the Noble Lecture Series is to support the Mongolian younger generations’ interest in science and to build scientific awareness within the public.

LECTURES DELIVERED BY NOBEL PRIZE WINNERS FOR NUM In 2005, the NUM organized the visit of the 2000 Nobel Prize winner in Economics, Professor Robert Mundell

from the Columbia University in the City of New York. He delivered the “The Global Economy and Currency System” lecture for professionals and the public.

By cooperating with the School of Physics and Electronics, NUM organized a visit of the 1985 Nobel Prize winner in Physics, Mr. Klaus Von Klitzing from August 8-14th, 2011. He delivered the “The Quantized Hall Effect” lecture for professionals and presented “How Long is a Meter?” lecture to the public.

The 2007 Nobel Prize Winner in Peace, Mr. R.K. Pachauri, the Chairman of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, delivered his lecture “Climate Change and Sustainable Development” on October 11, 2011.

In April 2012, the 2008 Nobel Prize winner in physics, Mr. Toshihide Maskawa visited the NUM and gave two lectures entitled “70’s Elementary Particles from Disorder to Standard Models” delivered to teachers and students alike and later presented “What is the CP Violation?” to the public.

In September 2012, the 1985 Nobel Prize winner in chemistry, Mr. Yuan. T. Lee presented the lecture “Dynamics of Chemical Elementary Processes and Photochemistry Processes” to teachers and students in the chemistry field and the lecture “Social Sustainability in Humankind” to the public. The NUM has been a trusted partner of Erasmus Mundus since 2009 with over 55 students and faculties involved in various programs like Bridging the Gap, One More Step, AREAS and Swap and Transfer.
