MARKET SYNOPSIS

f On Wednesday, NIFTY-50 rose

to 17,442-level post a gap-up

opening, but later failed to hold

higher levels and reversed, which

dragged the index to 17,199-level

during the day. Finally, the index

closed the session with the loss of

70 points at 17,246-level.

f NSE Cash segment reported

turnover of Rs61,633 crore as

compared to Rs61,821 crore

reported earlier.

f Overall market breadth remained

negative, where 853 stocks

advanced against 1,252 declined

stocks.

f Mixed trend was observed across

the sectoral indices during the day,

where Metal emerged as a top gainer with the increase of 1.2%. However Auto index emerged as a top loser with the decrease of 1%.

NSE-NIFTY OUTLOOK

f Yesterday, NIFTY-50 jumped above its downward sloping 100-day SMA in the initial trades, but due to lack of follow-up move the

index failed to hold higher levels and reversed subsequently. Its key technical indicators are positively poised on medium-term and

short-term timeframe charts, while near-term indicators reversed from their higher levels and given sell signal. Overall market breadth

remained negative, while mixed trend witnessed across the sectors. FII again emerged as net buyer in the cash segment, but turned

net seller across derivative categories. We believe the index will witness high volatility amidst weekly option expiry. On the lower side,

the index will continue to find support around 16,950-level. In case of rebound, 17,450-17,500 zone will cap the up-move.

f As for the day, support is placed at around 17,149 and then at 17,053 levels, while resistance is observed at 17,392 and then at 17,539

levels.
