Hydrostatic Test Site Summary Line 3R — Spread 9 — Gretna Tie-in Spool Section Test AFE #: 1440024A80 (LNS)

The hydrostatic test of 121.6m of 914.4mm O.D. (NPS36), 12.7mm W.T., Grade 483 pipeline

was successfully completed on October 26, 2018. All equipment that was used (recorders,

deadweight, gauges, thermometer) was supplied with valid calibration certificates. Test heads

with acceptable documentation were utilized. Safety precautions were discussed and

communicated to all personnel involved within the testing scope. The test adhered to Enbridge

Pipelines PCS-005 and CSA Z662. More than 4m of heavy wall pipe (NPS36, 15.1mm WT,

Grade 483) was welded to the test heads as to ensure that a hoop stress greater than 90% of

SMYS did not occur within 4m of the test head connection.

The test section was made up of one pipeline class:

1.) 914.4mm OD, 12.7mm WT, SAW Spiral Seam, Grade 483, MOP 9,930 kPa

The test medium was water obtained from a municipal fill station. The section was filled, and

hydrostatic testing of the line commenced on October 26, 2018. The pipe was pressurized in

stages, with leak & equipment calibration checks conducted at 3,225 kPa and 6,505 kPa. All

leak checks were found to be acceptable. As pressure that would result in exceeding 100%

SMYS of the 12.7mm WT pipe was not achieved, a yield plot was not conducted.

The strength test commenced at 12:05 PM, October 26, 2018, and held for 1h 15m. The

pressure remained steady during the test at 13,000 kPa at the test point. The pressure test

exceeded the minimum requirement of 12,413 kPa (125% MOP) and was determined to be

acceptable.

Following the strength test, the pressure was reduced for the leak test. The leak test pressure

was below 90% SMYS of the 12.7mm WT pipe as to allow for a visual leak inspection of the

pipeline. The leak test began at 1:35 PM, on October 26, 2018, at a pressure of 11,300 kPa,

and held for 30 minutes. The pressure increased 10 kPa over the duration of the leak test,

which can be attributed to atmospheric conditions (warming air temperature). The leak test
