It is through desireless actions that Emperor Janaka and several other Wise men attained perfection. Thou perforce must act, for through thy actions thou wouldst be enlightening the world.

Shrimad Bhagavad Gita – 3:20

You derive benefi t from this world and from the community and so some activity on your part is their due.

Sri Sathya Sai Baba

Under the Divine guidance of Sri Sathya Sai Baba, Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation, Delhi-NCR strives towards realising the concept of Divinity. This truth is taken forward by the Organisationthrough its three main Wings – Spiritual,Educational and the Service. Baba says, “Love All, Serve All”. The underlying concept is “the person who serves is the person served”.Encompassing this Divine concept, the Service Wing of the Organisation coordinates internally and runs a very large number of volunteers who are affectionately called as Seva Dals and work with loving spirit radiating the Love of the Lord.

The Seva Dal members of the Service Winginvolve themselves in serving the needy byperforming acts of service in Jhuggi clusters or backward villages in Delhi-NCR region byorganising free medical camps, conducting free tutorial classes, performing Narayan Seva (feedingof the poor), self sustaining projects in adoptedvillages by imparting training in trade crafts, etc. Seva Dals also visit hospitals, old age and leprosy homes to perform Kar Seva. Seva Dal believes in “Help Ever, Hurt Never”.

The Service Wing identifi es the needy commu-nities of the society and conducts all impor-

tant medical tests at its medical camps often attended by esteemed senior doctors of the locality and in most cases takes up thetreatment of the villagers to a certain possibleextent or guides them accordingly. Of late, a new dimension to the Service Wing has been added in the form of conducting disaster management/awareness training sessions not only to its own members but also to school children andvillagers. The activity chiefly includes training on rescue acts to save victims in case of naturalcalamities.

In a nutshell, the motto of the service wing remains – `Service rendered to humans is Service rendered to God`.

(E) Sai Protein – Special Initiative of Mahila Volunteers of the Organisation

In India, 44% of children under the age of 5 are underweight. 72% of infants and 52% of marriedwomen suffer from anaemia. Research has conclusively shown that malnutrition duringpregnancy causes the child to have increased risk of future diseases, physical retardation, and reduced cognitive abilities.

Understanding the graveness of the problem, many devotees in the Delhi- NCR region had been making soulful efforts in producing Sai Protein - a diet enhancement supplement to help the poor who have limited access to food and nutrition and especially sources of pro-tein in their daily diet. Till the year 2013, Sai Protein produc-tion was being done in various districts primarily by Mahilas in their homes, as per guidance and directions received from their respective Coordinators.

Considering the need of the hour, Shri. Jatinder Cheema, State President, Delhi- NCR, constituted a Central Team of Sai Volunteers to take up Sai Protein production at a centrallevel. This move was taken mainly to bring in standardi-sation and monitoring of overall production and consumption of Sai Protein in Delhi and NCRregions. As a very modestbeginning, three Districts took up distribution of Sai Protein through their Mobile Medical Vans and identifi ed schools

and orphanages in respectiveSSSVIP adopted villages. However, the production did not show any scalable jump indistribution and consumption and the production remained static around 130 kg to 140 kgs on a monthly basis.

In May, 2016, The Sai Protein production team saw a ray of hope. The team decided that before actually distributing Sai Protein amongst the poor through SSSVIP route or MedicalVan route, we as Sai Baba’ssoldiers, fi rst need to educate our ownselves of the benefi ts and usage of the Sai Protein Powder. Before venturing into feedingothers, the team membersthought and preferred to become fi rst users of SaiProtein in their own families before qualifying to take up the holy work of educating and distributing Sai Protein to the needy and undernourished.

Thereafter, the Mahilas ofDelhi-NCR region got togetherand decided to bring in two variants of Sai Protein productsin the form of Sai Protein Panjiriand Sai Protein Biscuits . Both the products were prepared with the help of Mahila Seva Dal. These efforts bore results and both the products wereimmensely liked by our Sai devotee families. The year 2016 will also remain etched in memories for another special reason, as the Mahilas of Delhi

got an opportunity of hosting two exhibitions to display Sai Protein variants at the holy land of Prasanthi Nilayam and also at the Sathya Sai International Centre, Lodhi Road, Delhi.

The production fi gures have now started showing an increasing trend averaging around 250-300 kgs. per month. With Baba’sblessings, the Mahilas of Delhi-NCR are all charged up to take this mission forward and pray to Sri Sathya Sai Baba to give strength and right understand-ing to the team in taking the Sai Protein supplement to the poorest of the poor who are the most deserving benefi ciaries of this divine prasadam.

After successfully running the College pro-gramme on Human Values, the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation, Delhi- NCR launched a course for working professionals, titled ‘Your Life is Your Message’ in the year 2014.

The programme ‘Your Life is Your message’ was designed with the aim of taking Swami’s teach-ings to guide Corporate minds to nudge their hearts and minds, and take a peep within by de-veloping new attitudes and outlook, and bring back their connection with the ‘goodness’ within. The goodness which is inherent in every one of us, is the real source of inspiring energy, self-confidence, lasting peace and happiness.

The programme based its fundamentals on modern scientific, psychological searches and universal teachings through a highly interactive audio-visual journey – that sought to challenge the experienced but yet impatient corporate

minds to find out newer ways to handle their multi faceted roles as an individual, parent, child, corporate professional and citizen of India.

The LIGP Programme was held at Institute of Management and Technology, Faridabad for the fourth consecutive year. The modules are very well received as usual by the students. On 3rd April, 2017, students undertook Community Service Project at Sahyog School (for special

children). The programme started with Sai Bhajan in which all the students participated. The IMT students played with and taught painting, singing, etc., to the children of Sahog School. The programme concluded with Aarti and prasadam.

The “Your Life is Your Message” program was conducted at Sri Sathya Sai International Centre in two sessions on the 8th of May and the 29th of May for all the Office bearers of the SSSSO Delhi -NCR, including the District Presidents, State Co-ordinators, District Co-ordinators and Samiti Conveners. It was a unique programme that took some inspiration from Swami’s advices and His expectations from the members of the organi-sation, designed on the lines of the corporate training workshops delivered by the volunteers of the organisation at the leading companies in Delhi–NCR such as MARUTI, HDFC BANK, etc. It included an inspiring multimedia presentation along with various kinds of videos and interactive games and discussions.

It was an opportunity for everyone to get together at the feet of Swami to pause, refresh their resolve and rededicate themselves to their ‘purpose’. They had a chance to introspect upon and reconnect with Swami – their source of all motivation and His loving guidance. It stressed that all spiritual efforts must be focused upon the SELF- and not on improving others; it brought out the importance of self-confidence as stressed by Swami in this spiritual endevour, and how we can develop it. Expectations of Swami remained the central theme of the entire workshop. It inspiringly brought out how joyfully meaningful our lives become when we keep as the purpose of all our endeavours the sole objective of pleasing Swami!

Sadhana Camps are an integral part of the activities of the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation (SSSSO). These provide a platform for interaction among the devotees – new and old and the members of the Organisation, where they learn from each other’s experiences and get engaged in collective sadhana. These camps also create an opportunity for the Organisation to explore ways and methods for wide-spreading of Divine Message of “Love All, Serve All” among the masses. One of the objectives of these camps is to motivate people to participate in the yearly ‘Seva’ at Prasanthi Nilayam (Puttaparthy),

Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation, Delhi-NCR renders ‘Seva’ at Prasanthi Nilayam twice a year, i.e., in January and March. Various Sadhana

Camps for devotees were organised in the Districts. The main objective of these camps is to orient the participants’ minds towards the concept of ‘Seva’, apprise them of various kinds of service activities, familiarise them about the rules and regulations to be followed and motivate them for a wholehearted participation. In these Sadhana Camps, senior devotees including State / District Coordinators and regular Seva Dal members interact with the gathering, share their valuable experiences and provide them useful guidance to boost their morale. Such camps were held in the East, West, South-East, South-West, North, Faridabad and Gurugram Districts in the months of October and November, 2016 and were addressed by the State Seva Dal Coordinators.

Study Circles promote the concept of EDUCARE through exchange of knowledge and experiences among attendees. While regular Study Circles were held at all Districts in Delhi-NCR, they are held once a month at the Sathya Sai International Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi on the fourth Sunday of every month under the programme, captioned ‘My Experiments with Truth’, a web

based Study Circle on a yahoo group. Study Circles on WhatsApp are also being carried out in almost every District of Delhi-NCR. Through this common platform, devotees share motivational messages, views and experiences daily. Group moderators are also very regular to take up matters pertaining to the chosen topic and post in the group to educate the devotees.

By the Divine grace, the activities of the Delhi NCR Veda Team have been steadily gaining momentum. The significant milestones achieved in the annual events include participation of 4 representatives from Delhi-NCR in Veda chanting at the World Youth Conference at Prasanthi Nilayam in July 2016. A team of 8 members from Delhi-NCR also participated in the inauguration of the Sri Sathya Sai Ghaat at Rishikesh, held in September 2016. Participants from Delhi NCR were blissfully immersed in Vedic Mantras for 3 full days. Each one of them felt rejuvenated by

the Energy and Vibrations exuded throughout the event. 6 of our members attended the First National Veda “Train the Trainer” programme organised from 19 to 20 November 2016 at Prasanthi Nilayam. Our trainers clearly under-stood the nuances required to impart Vedic knowledge to other aspirants. Ekadasa Rudrab-hishekam – during Maha Shivaratri celebra-tions at the Sai Centre was conducted as per the traditional rites and rituals. The 4 hour long abhishekam with the chanting of Rudram left all bathed in divine grace. Subsequently, chanting of

A Study Circle Workshop was organised by South East District at Sarita Vihar on 4th March, 2017 on the topic “Making Relationships More Beautiful”. The idea behindorganising this unique event was to move beyond the common format of delivering value-based lecture to a more interactive session that aimed at larger involve-ment, sharing, participatory discussion and collective learning for all the members present. It is heartening to note that the workshop was well attended and was perceived by one and all as simply astounding and enthralling. The topic taken up “Making Relationships More Beautiful” was very realistic and practical. Our existence is given but the essence that we make out of it truly depends on how deeply and compassionately we as human beings connect with ourselves, otherfellow beings and the environment around us. Hence, it is the need of the hour to discuss, understand and implement more beautiful ways of relating beyond self. There were four eminent speakers who covered different aspects of human relationships such as

Love, Compassion, Appreciation, Acknowledgement, Self Acceptance and the most adorable relationshipever, that with God. Every speaker made it a point to involve the audience in their lively discussion and collectively build on the topic of their discussion. The highlight of the day, that truly made it a participatory workshop were the two ‘case analyses’, based on the present day burning relationship issue of ‘matrimo-nial maladjustment’ as well as ‘aging parents issue’. All the members of the audience very enthusiasti-cally shared their viewpoints and contributed to their respective group discussion that were then collectively presented to the larger audience by the respective group representative. The last speaker then took the audience to the highest level of Relationship and that was, ‘A Relationship with Our Dear Swami, The Supreme Power’. The workshop concluded with a cherished note of deeper introspection and great learning on how one can make relationships more beautiful, blissful and healthy.

Inspired by the principles of ‘Service to Humanity is Service to God’ and ‘Love All, Serve All’ espoused by Sri Sathya Sai Baba, the Youth of Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation (SSSSO), India, has undertaken a pan-India national project called Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Jyoti (SSSVJ). Shri Nimish Pandya, All In-dia President, Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation, launched the Project at a spectacular event in the Poornachandra Auditorium during the World Youth Conference held at Prasanthi Niliyam from 12th to 14th July 2016. Under the guidance of Shri Jatinder Cheema, State President, Delhi-NCR, the Delhi State contingent of approximately 25 youth, comprising State Coordinator (Youth) and District Youth Coordinators, both Mahilas and Gents participated in the programme. The Youth from Delhi-NCR not only actively participated in the World Youth Conference but also had an opportunity to interact with their counterparts belonging to different States. They shared their thoughts and ideas, driven by in-novation in furtherance of this Project as a humble offering at the Lotus Feet.

Briefly, the aim of the project is to take up existing semi-operational, makeshift, dilapidated schools, and turn them into reasonably equipped, operational and well-structured temples of learning. Since a school is more than just a brick and mortar structure, the project will take a more holistic view of the entire ecosystem. Multiple stakeholders like the parent, the teacher, the school staff, the student, the villager, the volunteer and even the Government Department(s) are approached, interviewed, in-volved and leveraged in constructively shaping the learning environment for the child. Physical activities, cultural programmes, value oriented discussions, extracurricular activities are all inter-spersed harmoniously to inspire the child and equip the school in the longer run.

In the last one year, all the constituent Districts of Delhi-NCR have actively worked on identifying schools and started activities in the adopted schools with the help of the school authorities. A brief activity schedule is shared below:
