Annual Report
Submitted to 13th Governing Body Meeting held on 4th February 2018
Methodist College of Engineering & Technology affiliated to Osmania University is a
non-minority institute founded in 2008 by Methodist Church of India under the
leadership of Mr K. Krishna Rao. The present intake is 120 students in four branches
ECE, CSE, Mechanical and Civil and 60 in EEE . The college also offers MBA
programme with an intake of 60 and PG course ME (CAD/CAM) with 18 students. Total
intake in the Academic Year 2018-19 is 618. The number of students admitted this year in
BE I year is 505 as against the sanctioned intake of 540. The current total student strength
of the college is about 2000.
The Department of Mechanical Engineering is recognized as Research Centre by
OU for carrying out research leading to the award of PhD degree.
This college has the best and experienced teaching fraternity totaling to about 130 out of
which 22 with PhD qualification, having interest both in teaching and also research
work, in their fields of specialisation. This college is not just limited to the classroom-
teaching, but spins beyond the textbooks to develop character and thus mould the total
personality of students.
This academic year is unique in the history of MCET as it has completed 10 years. We
organized many events during this year as part of Decennial celebrations . Though the
college is only 10 years old, is progressing fast. I am happy to inform that during 2017-18
one of our student Mr Salman Ullah Khan from Department of Mechanical Engineering
bagged University first rank. This is the third time the Dept of Mechanical Engineering has
bagged University first rank. Earlier in 2013 one student bagged University first rank from
EEE department. In toto out of the seven passed out batches our college bagged 4 Gold
Medals. This is an ample testimony for the academic progress of the college.
It is heartening to note that many of the passed out students have been placed well in
reputed companies and also pursuing higher studies in India and abroad.
The main strength of the college is the inspiring and proactive management having rich
experience in the field of higher education. The management constantly strives hard to
provide quality education and takes care of the interests of both the students and faculty.
