沙特:中国公司签署总额650亿美元协议

沙特国王萨勒曼在与中国国家主席习近平会谈时,见证了两国企业总额近650亿美元的经贸协议的签署,涉及能源、航空等多个领域。但中国政府并未公开进一步的细节。中国和沙特此次在石油投资和可再生能源领域签署了超过20份合作协议,进一步深化了两国在能源领域的合作关系。中国方面甚至探讨了入股沙特阿美的可能性,该公司为沙特的国家石油公司,正在准备公开上市。(外交政策,2017年3月)

UAE: China Takes Over Key Abu Dhabi Port and FTZ

At the end of July 2017, China’s Jiangsu province signed a $300 million deal with the UAE’s Abu Dhabi Ports to develop a manufacturing operation in the free trade zone of Khalifa Port. Five Chinese companies have agreed to spend a total of $300 million in a deal with Abu Dhabi Ports. (CNBC, July 2017)

Middle East: CSCEC growing in the region

The Middle East unit of China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC) expects to secure more work in the region by tapping resources from Chinese banks and credit agencies as the company targets up to US$1 billion in revenue in 2017, according to its Chairman. (The National, August 2017)

Abu Dhabi: UNB, first UAE bank to open in Shanghai

Union National Bank (UNB), 50 per cent owned by the Abu Dhabi government, has begun operations at its branch in Shanghai, becoming the first bank from the United Arab Emirates to operate a branch in mainland China. (Gulf News, August 2017)

Saudi Arabia: China Sign Deals Worth Up to $65 Billion

During his meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping, King Salman oversaw the signing of up to $65 billion worth of economic and trade deals, spanning sectors from energy to space, though the Chinese government disclosed few

specifics. Saudi Arabia and China also deepened their energy relationship with more than 20 agreements on oil investments and in renewable energy. China even discussed taking a stake in Saudi Aramco, the state-owned oil firm, which is preparing for a public listing. (Foreign Policy, March 2017)

Egypt: China and Egypt sign $71 million Grant Deal

Egypt and China have signed a grant of $71 million to establish an Egyptian satellite and training centre for the Suez Canal Economic Zone Authority. (Zawya, March 2017)

Egypt: China Electricity Line Deal

The State Grid Corporation of China and the Ministry of Electricity and Energy of Egypt sign a project contract for the transmission line in Egypt on 21 January 2016. (The Telegraph, January 2016)

Egypt: New Cairo Capital City Project

Egypt’s government signed an MOU with Chinese developer China Fortune Land Development (CFLD) and China State Construction Engineering Company (CSCEC) to “study building and financing” the administrative part of the new capital, which will include ministries, government agencies and the president’s office. China Fortune Land Development and CSCEC signed agreements with Egyptian authorities in early 2016 to develop parts of the project with CSCEC providing an initial $3bn loan to help build government facilities at the site. Egypt: China Sign $2.6B Currency Swap Boosting Pound Flotation

The countries’ central banks signed the 3-year swap agreement for 18 billion yuan against the equivalent in Egyptian pounds. (Bloomberg, June 2016)

Oman: Chinese firms commit $3.1billion investment in Oman’s Duqm free zone

A group of Chinese investors have signed an agreement to build an industrial park at Oman’s southern port of Duqm in a project that could attract billions of dollars of investment. Yahya al-Jabri, chairman of the Omani state authority developing Duqm, predicted the 1,172-hectare industrial park would attract $10 billion of investment by 2022, including $370 million which the Chinese side would spend on infrastructure. (Reuters, May 2016)

Kuwait: Belt and Road Initiative to strengthen China-Kuwait ties

The Belt and Road Initiative could tremendously bolster ties between China and Kuwait, Chinese Ambassador Wang Di has said. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Kuwait and China in 1971, the two countries have seen sustained advances in their ties, the ambassador to Kuwait told Xinhua in a recent interview. “We firmly believe that, with joint efforts from both sides, China-Kuwait cooperation in the Belt and Road Initiative will bear fruitful results, serving the economic and social development of both sides and further promoting friendly ties,” Wang said. (China Daily, August 2017)

Bahrain: Bahrain EDB sign deals with leading Chinese tech companies

Three deals were signed between Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB) and the China Hi-Tech Transfer Centre; Shenzhen Belt and Road Economy and Technology Cooperation Association; and Shenzhen Cross-Border E-Commerce Association. (Bahrain EDB, May 2017)

Jordan: Ties between Jordan and China are on the rise

Ties between Jordan and China are on the rise with trade exchange exceeding 3.1 billion U.S. dollars in 2016. China is Jordan’s second largest trade partner, noting that there are tens of Chinese companies investing in Jordan, with tremendous potential for increased partnerships. (Xinhuanet, April 2017)
