What types of magazine and target audience has IPC been associated with over the years?
Woman’s Weekly and Woman- BC1C2 women aged 25-45
Nuts- BC1C2 men aged 16-30
Golf Monthly- ABC1 men aged 25-54
Shooting Times, The Railway Magazine- AB men aged 30-60
What’s on TV- BC1C2 women aged 25-44 with young families
Why might IPC be an appropriate publisher for a new music magazine? What sort of genres of music/ types of magazine might they be likely to publish? Why might alternative publishers like Bauer be appropriate?
IPC publishes 2 music magazines: NME and Uncut. Although these both cover a range of genres, IPC tends to focus on publishing other varieties of magazines other than music.
Bauer produces Kerrang!, Mojo and Q. This means Bauer may be more suitable for a new music magazine focusing on a specific genre.
