A project about personal contribution.Appropriating old function & new intention.

Reappropriating a found piece of furniture: a valet stand. The chair provides the opportunity for clothes to be tossed onto it.

Each individual completes the composition of the chair by adding their personal effects.

A project in wearable design.Exploring the relationship between people & their stuff.

The goal was not to redesign luggage, but to get people to think about the things that they travel with.

PackYou becomes a means of foregrounding the personality of the user as the objects within become the texture of the garment.

A group project in workspace design.A street food cart,a communal table.

PBlovesJ was designed with the shared experience of a community in mind, through the act of making peanut butter & jelly sandwiches.

The way you interact with the cart informs a means of interacting with others. Whether that interaction is through conversation or simply observation, users become part one another’s experiences.

A practice in exhibit design.Showcasing the work of Georgia Tech & SCAD Industrial Design.

The designed content of the exhibit included everything from informational plaques to the overall theme: unpacking young design minds.

Chalk & stencils were employed as a medium to tie back to the educational content of this portion of the exhibition.

A group project in community connection.Mapping the opportunities of Red Hook, Brooklyn, a community in transition.

I designed a map illustrating the disconnect of information about events between local businesses & community centers in Red Hook.

The data arose from the ethnographic study of informational postcards prevalent throughoutthe neighborhood.

A group project in community connection between locals & those becoming locals.

By observing community efforts on a larger scale, we were able to link several different organizations through a recipe swap.

Using existing methodologies of information distribution, a recipe card was designed as the physical link over the common ground of food.

Structured as a consultancy, we created an experimental, collaborative portfolio that focused on showcasing the personalities of the group.

As project manager, I created an illustrated schedule to use as a guide for project paths, with specific checkpoints along the way.

A project in musical objects.Navigating the collaborative effect of people & their environment.

A stretched membrane is a reading of silence, and breaking the surface of that membrane would be a means of breaking that silence.

By creating passages of membranes, people can interact on a public level as their physical interjections are translated into music.

A 24-hour installation over one week at an abandoned warehouse, responding to what I found there: fluorescent tubes.

The tubes were rescued from among the wreckage of vandalism and released from the building via a skylight.

An exercise in production preparation.Learning effective communication with manufacturers.

In Malcolm’s upcoming line of urban adventure bags, I helped create useful drawings for aid in manufacturing.

The key is relaying the right amount of detail to ensure quality and consistency in production.

Creating a bank of knowledge and experience through interviews with designers on a global stage.

As one of the key interviewers, I had the opportunity to speak with designers, both established and on their way to making it.

Intent listening & responsive inquiry were key towards discussing reflections on the state of design.

An effort of the student body to grow as pre-professional designers.

We learn through listening to the professionals around us and acting to increase our momentum into an energetic & creative field.

As part of the executive board, we collectively made efforts to reinvigorate a fading organization into a vibrant community of over 140 students.

A student-founded, student-led initiative to promote studio culture outside of the academic environment.

We drink coffee, tour studios of all disciplines, throw house parties, screen print everything, design posters, & form relationships.

The goal is to translate a passion for learning design into a passion for living design.

This model incorporates both a folded and rolled top to ensure security of contents during transportation.

This model tests the concept of creating a

recycling system. It combines the benefits of a more permanantly standing

and reinforcing box with a bag that utilizes a top cuff to create a fit over the bin.

This version of our MatchBox test the abilities of a

free-standing, semi-permanent skin to hold recyclables. The idea is that the

more the product is used (the more recyclables placed in the bag), the more rigid the form becomes. The

use then defines the form.
