Page 2: Vincent van gogh don mclean

Starry, starry night... Paint your palette blue and grey,

Page 3: Vincent van gogh don mclean

Look out on a summer's day,

Page 4: Vincent van gogh don mclean

With eyes that know the darkness in my soul. Shadows on the hills,

Page 5: Vincent van gogh don mclean

Sketch the trees and the daffodils, catch the breeze and the winter chills,

Page 6: Vincent van gogh don mclean

In colors on the snowy linen land.

Page 7: Vincent van gogh don mclean

Now I understand what you tried to say to me, how you suffered for your sanity,

Page 8: Vincent van gogh don mclean

They would not listen, they did not know how.How you tried to set them free.

Page 9: Vincent van gogh don mclean

Perhaps they'll listen now.

Page 10: Vincent van gogh don mclean

Starry, starry night. Flaming flowers that brightly blaze,

Page 11: Vincent van gogh don mclean

Swirling clouds in violet haze, reflect in Vincent's eyes of china blue.

Page 12: Vincent van gogh don mclean

Colors changing hue,

Page 13: Vincent van gogh don mclean

morning field of amber grain,

Page 14: Vincent van gogh don mclean

Weathered faces lined in pain, are soothed beneath the artist's loving hand.

Page 15: Vincent van gogh don mclean

Now I understand what you tried to say to me, how you suffered for your sanity,

Page 16: Vincent van gogh don mclean

They would not listen, they did not know how.How you tried to set them free.

Perhaps they'll listen now.

Page 17: Vincent van gogh don mclean

For they could not love you,

Page 18: Vincent van gogh don mclean

But still your love was true.

Page 19: Vincent van gogh don mclean

And when no hope was left in sight

on that starry, starry night,

you took your life, as lovers often do.

Page 20: Vincent van gogh don mclean

But I could have told you, Vincent,

this world was never meant for one as...

…beautiful as you.

Page 21: Vincent van gogh don mclean

Starry, starry night.

Page 22: Vincent van gogh don mclean

Portraits hung in empty halls,

Page 23: Vincent van gogh don mclean

Frameless head on nameless walls,

Page 24: Vincent van gogh don mclean

With eyes that watch the world and can't forget. Like the strangers that you've met,

Page 25: Vincent van gogh don mclean

The ragged men in the ragged clothes,

Page 26: Vincent van gogh don mclean

The silver thorn of bloody rose, lie crushed and broken on the virgin snow.

Page 27: Vincent van gogh don mclean

Now I think I know what you tried to say to me, how you suffered for your sanity,

Page 28: Vincent van gogh don mclean

They would not listen, they're not listening still. How you tried to set them free.

Page 29: Vincent van gogh don mclean

Perhaps they never will...
