Based on Chavasse S t reet , the luxur ious C lubhouse has a tas te o f New Eng land and takes i ts insp i ra t ion f rom the enchant ing beach houses o f the ch i c and affluent New York ho l iday des t inat ion .

Tyson L ight ing was commiss ioned to de l ive r the l i ght ing des ign fo r th i s imag inat i ve , v i sua l f eas t . Low leve l amb ient l ight ing was used to compl iment the pas te l co lour scheme and seas ide wa l l pa inted mura l s w i th c lear g lass pendants hung throughout to keep a l i ght and f resh fee l . S imp le ye t beaut i fu l pendants were fash ioned f rom natura l mate r ia l such as w icker and neut ra l fab r i cs l i ke hess ian was used to reflec t the sandy tones .

The Crystal Glass Chandelier

To add the wow factor the c l ient ins t ruc ted Tyson L ight ing to commiss ion two fea ture pendants . The fir s t be ing a 1 .5 meters i n d iameter and 2 .6 meters h igh s tunning chandel i er adorned w i th c rys ta l decante rs and d rops , champagne flutes , cut g lass and t inted g lass gob lets .

The Tyson des ign and manufac tur ing team b rought to l i f e Pau l Danson’s mag ica l hot a i r ba l l oon in what has p roven to be a g rand and romant i c feature pendant . The f ramework fo r the eye ca tch ing c reat ion wh ich i s 1 .6 meters i n d iameter and a g igant i c 3 .2 meters h igh was made us ing s tee l rod wh i l s t ro l l ed s tee l and deco rat i ve band ing was used to c reate the basket .

The c l i ent ’ s w i sh was to use a r i ch burgundy co lour fab r i c , w i th l a rge tasse l s and decora t i ve cords to d rape and swag around the f rame o f the ba l l oon , c rea t ing a theatr i ca l aspect to the fit t ing which contras ted per fec t l y aga ins t the raw s tee l f ramework . Acco rd ing to Tyson L ight ing des igner , M ike Radfo rd , the b iggest cha l l enge was search ing fo r su i tab le mater ia ls and decorat ive cords that matched and comp l imented each other to embel l i sh the ba l l oon .

The p rocess fo l l owed by the Tyson L ight ing team in order to br ing a c l i ent ’s v i s ion to a rea l i ty o ften beg ins w i th a s imp le sketch and a b ra in s to rming meet ing w i th the c l i ent where buzz words , desc r ib ing the l ook , fee l and fin i sh o f the p iece are th rown around to define the c l i ent ’s v i s ion. The sketches are then deve loped into Tyson’s 3D so ftware So l idworks Pro fess iona l mak ing i t easy to manipulate any changes requi red fur ther down the l i ne in the des ign p rocess . The ideas are refined w i th poss ib le var ia t i ons o f mater ia l s and fin ishes that can be achieved . Once the concept i s fina l i sed the Tyson L ight ing des igners use CAD draw ings to fina l i se he ights , components and fini shes in ant i c ipat ion o f the c l i ent ’s fina l s ign off.

M ike reflec ted that “ I t ’ s the cha l l enges and reso lv ing the d ifficul t i es that make the pro jec ts more reward ing . Pro jects such as the C lubhouse push the boundar ies i n c reat i v i ty and fo rm fo r l ight ing p ro jec ts . The deve lopment s tage i s the bes t t ime to fo resee any i ssues and reso lve these in advance to avo id s low ing down p roduc t ion. O f course , some i ssues can on ly be i roned out dur ing manufac tur ing fo r example w i r ing and h id ing a contro l gear effic ient l y o r find ing a su i tab le method o f suspend ing champagne g lasses s t ra ight and t rue . Work ing on the C lubhouse has brought another outs tand ing pro ject to Tyson ’s door where , as a lways , we put our a l l i n to ach iev ing our c l i ent ’s v i s i on c reat ing show s topp ing bespoke fi t t ings which have pushed the boundar ies i n fo rm and funct ion - the idea l approach fo r c l i ents who want something ex traord inary” .
