Design A School In A Day Workshop

corporate responsibility

As part of RDT’s corporate responsibility they have written and developed a design workshop to regional schools and colleges. The workshop is presented at local schools in a fun and practical way to introduce and promote the construction professional and to develop team working and presentation skills.

The day workshop provides the opportunity to experience all aspects of the design process in a commercial environment and is attended by RDT’s architectural, structural engineering and interior design teams.

The students work as teams in a competitive format to develop and design a new school to accommodate an extra 50% of students plus a new centre of excellence. The winning design is visualised by RDT using their 3D software.

RDT have run over sixteen highly successful workshops but they are keen to further develop the workshop and make it more widely available through a grant scheme or sponsorship.
