Pensar helped Microsoft’s New Product Innovation group bring
Surface to life. We are proud of our contributions, including the
easy alignment and solid feel of the touch cover and it's
connection to Surface. Our prowess in tolerance analysis turned
Surface into a high precision machine with just the right feel.
ENGINEERING BEAUTY
Microsoft chose Pensar as the sole
mechanical integration and detail partner for
the new Xbox console, from the ground up.
100% of the mechanical design, mechanical
system integration, and execution was done
by the Pensar team. A few key contributions

ENGINEERED SPEED Pensar has also worked with Microsoft
on several accessory products such as
the Xbox Speed Wheel.
100% of the mechanical design

Pensar worked with the Fluke team to design three new Laser Distance Meters
(LDMs), the 414D, 419D, and 424D. We created a modern visual language that
embraces Fluke's design heritage.
ILLUMINATING THOSE AT RISK
SHINING A LIGHT ON ONE OF THE TOUGHEST JOBS ILLUMAGEAR’s first product is The Halo Light™, a patent-pending 360º light system worn at head-level that
produces a halo of light around the wearer enabling him or her to see and be seen in all directions at all times,
especially in low light conditions. Pensar is providing Electrical Engineering, Industrial Design and Mechanical
Engineering on this exciting project. Stay tuned for updates in the future.
Gunnar Optiks creates eyewear to alleviate
fatigue associated with long hours behind a
screen. The lenses provide slight magnification
combined with a yellow tint that mitigates strain
from florescent bulbs.
Gunnar asked Pensar to design styles that would
be appropriate for both genders and build on
their tech-driven identity.
ENHANCING THE DIGITAL DEVICE EXPERIENCE
Details are honed through graphic illustrations and 3D
renderings. We work with the Gunnar team and their
manufacturers to make sure the fine points are realized.

Philips Medical Systems, the world leader in medical ultrasound, wanted a product that would
revolutionize the market. Pensar partnered with the company’s mechanical engineering team to
develop over 110 tooled parts, multiple complex mechanisms, and the core system-level
architecture. With full responsibility for 90% of the detailed design and project management;
we are proud of our involvement in developing a state of the art medical device with this
world-class company.
The challenge on the iU22 project was working to create the product within Philips’ market-
driven schedule and cost targets. We started by working alongside Philips’ product marketing
specialists to define the proper system-level architecture to meet their users’ needs. During the
detailed design phase, we worked with Philips Design to capture and maintain their vision for
the next generation premium ultrasound cart. In the end, the product ship date remained fixed,
the budget remained unchanged, and the vision was transferred into the hands of medical
professionals around the world.

REVITALIZING PRODUCTS BY
LISTENING TO USER NEEDS
Pensar redesigned the Quinton Q-Stress. When paired with a treadmill, it
measures the heart’s ability to respond to external stress. Due to it’s stellar
performance Q-Stress is considered to be the gold standard of the industry.
The new Q-Stress features improved cable management, flexibility to
incorporate new devices, low tooling cost, and aesthetics designed to stand
the test of time in a tough clinical environment.

SonoSite Turbo-series, MicroMaxx, and NanoMaxx Pensar EE was part of the SonoSite team that developed the detailed system architecture for these state-
of-the-art ultrasound systems, including system design, signal optimization and data throughput, Matlab
algorithm development, image optimization, and acoustic beam design and analysis.

your mobile is your key. Pensar provided electrical and mechanical engineering on these
prototype units. y!kes is currently using them to seek funding.
PHILIPS SONICARE
SONIC TOOTHBRUSHES Pensar EE managed embedded electrical design and
firmware of new products as well as cost-reduction
initiatives to streamline high volume (4.5 M/year)
overseas production of Philips’ Sonicare toothbrushes.
Pensar was instrumental in developing MEMS orientation
sensing, wireless power transfer and charge control, and
test and measurement equipment for product
optimization, manufacturing, and performance testing.
