NINTENDO DSThe system I want to use to build my Tea emulator is the Nintendo DS Lite.

The Nintendo DS was originally launched in December 2004, With the lite version being released in June 2006.

DS LITEIt is a handheld game console developed and manufactured by Nintendo. It features a clamshell design and two LCD screens, with the bottom one being a touch screen. The Nintendo DS also features a built-in microphone and supports Wi-Fi connectivity.

The DS Lite is a slimmer and lighter version of the Nintendo DS and has brighter screens.

OVERVIEWMy Overall idea is to have a Tea based theme game for the DS, Which would involve heavy use of stylus based game play and points scoring.

The game would be focused on the actually brewing methods, Which would be varied.

REFERENCESI looked at several games for ideas and examples.

Both of these games have elements I would like to incorporate into my design

HENRY HATSWORTHHenry Hatsworth and the puzzling adventure made very good use of the stylus for puzzle and point based game play. The power up ability players could use was called ‘Tea Time’ and involved Henry using a robot suit to cause chaos.

WARIOWARE TOUCHEDWarioware touched was an excellent game, consisting of many challenging and fun mini games. There was also many unlock able modes and game play items. The game made heavy use of all the DS features, such as the Stylus, mike and dual screens.

This image shows an example of a stylus based challenge. It is also what I would like to base my game play style on.

GAME PLAY FLOWGame play would involve making various teas through different brewing methods. Points would be awarded for technique, Accuracy, colour and many other parameters.

Other modes, such as time attack and randomize (To mix up the process) and many more, would be unlock able. As would different and harder to brew teas, as well as optional tea ceremonies (simplified of course)

VISUALSI want the game to have bright and colourful visuals, A lot like the ones seen in my reference games. Simple shapes and objects would be used, No major detail. Some things, Such as the Tap handle, could be comically large to insure its easy to grab with the DS pen, and stands out well.

This is a good visual example, Wariowares predecessor.
