Interior Designing Project This was a project where i worked on an interior designing project under the supervision of Nina Puri, a prominent interior designer in bombay. THE TASK AT HAND WAS TO DESIGN A 3000 SQUARE foot HOUSE FOR A 7 MEMBERS FAMILY OF AGE GROUP RANGING FROM 5 YEARS TO 75 YEARS. Master bedroom 1 Children’s room Dinning area Initial site images The first view of the site is displayed in the images above; however I did not join this project at such an early stage. I assisted on the drawings and placement of the objects in the room according to reasonable positioning, focus of light and maximizing the use of the place. Open space to allow light to enter and prevent the room from looking camped. The plan is one of the most crucial aspect of an interior site. It is a 2-D version of the final room and the different departments use the plan to communicate and organize the final room. The clients strongly suggested warm but hotel-like interiors therefore, I suggested dark colors with a classy leather bed and a cozy armchair with a moving side table. The different types of furniture especially the use of wood on the ceiling brought out the hotel-like feeling. We chose to stick to minimal use of objects to highlight the openness and elegant look. 2. FINAL PLAN I WORKED ON FOR ONE MASTER BEDROOM AND THE LIVING
ROOM I rst drew a rough layout of the original site, and then with
the help of the carpenters, I learnt to scale the site with precise
measurements. I learnt how to create the furniture and room
drawings with the scale. The rough drawings were then edited and
computerized into a nal plan. This site as per my vision was rich
in its own way. I looked into various details of the project
ranging from the mirror cuts to the choice of marble. The entrance
focuses entirely on the wood cutting and reection created by the
mirror. The bathroom on the left was designed to please a seventy
year old couple. The grand wallpaper and hanging lights portrayed
this effect.
