Show and Tell: Research Through Design
Dr Raymond Holt Insitute of Design, Robotics and Optimisation School of Mechanical Engineering, University of Leeds [email protected]
Research through Design I work with children and therapists to design rehabilitative games. Working with users to denerate and evaluate their ideas helps me to better understand their views and needs.

More General Application – design as a tool for talking

So What…?
For Today: Aim is to better understand problems - not necessarily generate solutions – though solutions are good, too! Get dialogue going – raise awareness of opportunities for bespoke manufacture, engaging users in designing the world around them. Next Steps: Students at UoL to take ideas forward as part of their dissertations. Opportunities to look at how we develop future projects – grants, etc. Discuss how partners can work together in future to build on the findings.
