Animation film design has three significant stages: pre- production, production and post- production.

Pre-production is an important part of the Animation film making, in which research and conceptualization are involved. Animation welcomes pre- production design to contribute to the development of an innovative Animation Film technique.

Pre- production team follows their own bespoke conceptualization supported by the director of film and creative leads. Storyboard artist attends a stimulating visualization alongside the set design and the color concept with the Assistant Director to investigate the look and feel of the film.

On each stage pre- production artist is guided by one or more creative heads and additional specialist advisors.

The artist who is drawing for 3D sets needs to study of perspective quite detail, as each drawing turns into 3D model. In this stage the artist needs to design a Layout referance sheet (LRS) to give more details. This process of pre-planning is very important as it save time and money.

Animation gives emphasis to development of auteur- artist- designer and filmmaker in relation to the information and entertainment. The process of pre-production helps production and post-production to improve film craft.

Animation deals with making films and moving images within visually sophisticated, innovative and multidisciplinary art and design context; which includes and demands developed skills and expertise.

Overall, animation is a process of experimental practice and continues efforts to achieve the desired infotainment.
