 Design background  We connect to or log in numerous internet services or websites on the network. Many sites recently recommned to use a                                         password with a high level security for protection of personal information. Accordingly, users are increasingly security                               conscious by setting varied and complicated passwords without personal informaion and changing them regularly for each                               site. If, however, their accounts with many different IDs and passwords grow to dozens, it is easy to become confused or                                         forget and they have to find them through inconvenient procedures each time. It is easy to see some people around who                                         write down and save their passwords in a diary, a personal computer, or a smartphone for that reason. Although they know                                         that it is useless if the valuable articles are lost or disclosed no matter how elaborately they created the passwords with a                                           high securty. If the login information is disclosed, there is a danger of financially misusing it as well as directly disclosing                                         personal information. There is a need for a notepad to save a password safely and find it easily whenever users want. In                                           this regard, we designed a smartphone­based password security application S.password.  S.password is an application which combined the method of saving a password in a smartphone that users always carry                                     and having access to it any time, which others cannot recognize, and the method of providing a lockdown to the above to                                           prevent access. The online password is fixed in the format of a combination of capital and small letters, numbers, and                                       symbols. Based on this, if the letters in the password form and the real password is mixed on the screen, it may seem like                                               a complicated cryptograph at a glance to others even if the smartphone is disclosed. The additional higher­level pattern lock                                     enhanced security further when the smartphone is lost. There are a lot of password management programs and                                 applications in the market currently but they are different from S.password because it is inconvenient to use them the way                                       they are and they become uselss if others see the same screen that users see or they log in by an automatic login function                                               after acquiring the device. If it comes to security such as a lockdown to prevent others from having access to password,                                         other applications can be far better but many people just want to note down their own passwords in the smartphone and                                         want no one but they themselves can see the password indicated on the screen. If they can openly mark the password on                                           the screen and only they can recognize it, they can probably find the password safely any time without complex algorithms.   

 

Design concept 

S.password in a word resembles the universe where there are numerous stars. It is a space where the password can be                                         hidden using the infinite combination of capital and small letters, numbers, and symbols, and users can carve thier secret                                     horoscope in the space. Once the pattern is unlocked many stars in the horoscope show their own features, the real                                       password. If users are careful only when unlocking the pattern, it may seem like nothing more than an engraving of many                                         lines and letters in the universe to others.  

 

 

Interdisciplinary fusion method 

In terms of design, it developed the security function without complex algorithms using the items, typos, and designs that                                     can show the application concept, and, in terms of engineering, it reviewed any possible problems while actually developing                                   the apps in Android OS and iOS. If visual design which speclializes in a sensual design for easy access by users and the                                             engineering view of Bachelo of Bio­Medical Engineering, a study on the functions and algorithms of applications, can be                                   joined, an output with a higher degree of completion and practicability  will be produced.

Reviewed content of technology 

As the application deals with important information of users it is necessary to apply an advanced security technology.                                   However high the level of security may be as a design element, the program must be prepared thoroughly for the pattern                                         lock and the unusual access route. 

Since the normal password structurally is composed in order of English and a number or a symbol, it will be better in terms                                             of security to follow the structure in accordance with the user setting when arranging letters on programming. 

As the font used for the design solution image doesn't support small letters, it is necessary to create small letter typos with                                           the similar design separately  if the same font is going to be used at the time of developing the application.

 1. Initial screen 

New input : Click here to save information of a new account. 

Find password : Click here to find the saved password of account.  

Password change : Click here to change or delete account information or pattern lock and zodiac sign saved already. 

2. New input screen 

It saves information of a new account. It is possible to add a new account to the site saved previously. First, enter the                                             address and ID of the site and then the password in the encoded blank. Then, press the button to draw a zodiac sign. A                                               zodiac sign is carved in the universe if users draw their own horoscopes and the information of a new account is saved                                           successfully after setting the pattern lock.  

3. Find password screen  

Find the password of the saved account. Select the site where there is the password that users want to know and                                         ID(account). Letters instead of stars and a combination of a string of letters instead of zodiac signs show up randomly in the                                           universe. If the pattern is unlocked on the screen, the scroll moves to find the zodiac sign which users initially designated,                                         and the letters turn into the real password. The zodiac sign of users is arranged randomly at the time. If users press the                                             zodiac sign for a long time after pattern unlock, it is automatically copied in the clipboard and users can paste it in the                                             password blank of the site.
