Cathy is fast becoming one of the most unique and sought after song-writers and recording artists in the UK today. Cathy has worked with some of the most influ-

ential artists & producers across the genres of House, UK Garage, Lounge, Chillout, Electronica, Cinematic and Pop music.

BIOGRAPHY

Following outstanding success in the

underground dance scene over the last 15 years,

Cathy Battistessa is recognised internationally

as ‘The Voice of Café del Mar’. She is both

author and performer of the most revered and

authentic Chilled & Dance classics to have

graced the entire compilation series, ‘More

Than Ever People’ (levitation), ‘Oh Home’ (Paco

Fernandez), ‘Shine’ & ‘Speck Of Gold’ (Afterlife),

‘Starlight’ (Chris Coco) and ‘Riva’ (SlowPulse) and

Black Water (Grant Nelson).

In 2000 Cathy co-wrote ‘A Little Bit Of Luck’

with DJ Luck & MC Neat, propelling her into

the mainstream Pop Charts and securing her

first Top 10 UK hit! Since then, her distinctive

and exquisite vocals have blessed innumerable

quality productions featured on the most seminal

compilation albums such as: Café Del Mar,

Defected, Hed Kandi, Café Mambo, Hotel Costes,

Ministry of Sound, Manifesto, Peppermint Jam,

React, Sunday Best, Blue Bar, Buddha Bar.

Cathy regularly performs worldwide for exclusive VIP events and has collaborated with a diverse choice of

Probably the most well-known song of Cathy’s, ‘More Than Ever peo-

ple’ (Levitation) was first released on Café Del Mar Vol. 5. This track

has since been licensed to a myriad of the most seminal compilation

albums worldwide! Hailed as one of the most ‘authentic Chillout &

Lounge hits’ to grace the Chill scene so far, next to her proceeding

CDM classic, “Oh Home’ (with Paco Fernandez & Levitation) Café Del

Mar Vol. 6.

LEVITATION

(SubatomicUK) - Since 1999, Cathy has seen continued success

co-writing with Steve Miller. Steve’s sensitive production on ‘Speck

Of Gold’, was the perfect cradle for Cathy’s sweet ethereal delivery in

lyric & vocal, transmitting ‘hope’ for a generation in turmoil after expe-

riencing 9/11. A further two tracks carefully crafted into release, ‘Shine’

and ‘Let it Go’ from 2009’s ‘Electrosensitive’ album, offer a more

rounded presentation of this simply stunning musical collaboration!

AFTERLIFE

(Defected / Miso) - All ‘light forces’ collided to produce the emotive

and mesmerising release which offers a genuine message of uni-

versal love, ‘I Am The Sun’ (Miso Records). Another co-write that

showcases Cathy’s defiant delivery in evocative ‘conscious lyrical

waxing’ and a timeless vocal performance all suspended in the sonic

embrace of a classic deep Mr. Webster production!

Bright (Lux) - These two established artists together, create a certain

sweetness in aural bliss and all is revealed when listening to the

authentic balearic masterpiece, ‘We The Light’, featured on the Café

Del Mar (Terrace Mix). Latest production, ‘Calling’ was chosen for the

Porsche Limited Edition Compilation, ‘Global Grooves 4’.

(SoundColours) - Another superior ‘creative alchemy’ in process.

Exquisite vocal performances, seductively crafted vocal arrangements

from Cathy, alongside quality production from the B&J duo has pro-

duced two releases so far, ‘Miracle Man’ (Incl. remixes by Lovebirds &

Afterlife) and ‘Happiness’. (incl. remixes by the notorious Miguel Migs).

‘Miracle Man’, a summer chilled-house sizzler. ‘Miracle Man’ (Beached)

opens the 2013 Café Del Mar Vol. 19 compilation.

BLANK AND JONES

(OMM Sounds) - This collaboration started at OMM Sounds Studios,

Ibiza, in the late ‘noughties’ and out of the blistering Ibiza heat came

first the collaboration on ‘More Than Ever People’ (Levitation) fol-

lowed by ‘Riva’ which was first released on ‘Café Del Mar Vol. 7’. In

2011 finca A.M. released the compilation, ‘Electronica Balear’ which

alongside previously released Slow Pulse collaborations with Cathy

also features the sweet reggae influenced, “Many Steps”.

SLOW PULSE / FINCA A.M

(Swing City) – Widely respected as one of the most exciting floor fill-

ers of 2009, this banging remix package of the Octave One classic,

‘Black Water’, (incl. remixes by Rob Hayes, Christian Alvarez, Soul

Purpose, DJ Spen), has ignited Cathy’s fan-base across USA and

Canada earning acknowledgment for her vocal performance and

remix writing innovation.

GRANT NELSON

Cathy’s live sets suit a range of events from

intimate lounge venues, club P.A’s, celebrity &

private parties, music festivals to corporate or

fashion events. Cathy has created bespoke

sets for fashion events where inspired by the

designer’s concept and tailored to sit with

catwalk choreography, she has created live

soundscapes, backdrops to host the shows!

Clients include; Armani Fashion Show (Paris,

Rome), Helena Rubenstein (London), Bread &

Butter (Barcelona), Hotel Costes (Paris), Milan

Fashion Week and MTV Fashion Shows

(Barcelona, Cologne). Cathy’s live shows all

feature a truly inspired vocal performance and

she currently offers a few Live Set options:

‘The Acoustic Set’ features one or two ‘world-

class musicians’ on an intimate and emotive

journey featuring broken down versions of

her most well known songs alongside new

productions and collaborations. This experience

is delicately crafted to awaken and comfort the

soul, lift the heart and raise the hairs on the back of your neck!

‘The Full Band Set’ can feature various layouts of the standard Bass, Guitar, Drums and Keys format but all

combinations use digital elements to get that rich warmth of a layered and full studio production. Cathy’s Full

Band comprises of 4-5 musicians but can also include a string quartet, or solo violinist. We currently have

musicians based in UK, Germany and Spain. All these ‘full band sets’ feature an energetic performance in the

style of Live Lounge, Nu Balearic to Live House Music!

‘The Club Set‘ comprises of Cathy or Cathy

plus DJ! Cathy can rock up with Mic in hand

ready to free-style with either her own DJ or

any established DJ! She has been rocking

Clubs in her unique way all over the world

from the famous Ibiza residences, Pacha,

Amnesia, Privilege, Space Terrace, Café Del

Mar, Mambo to London, L.A, to Dubai!

‘Live Programming Set’ features Cathy plus

Live Programmer and DJ. Ableton Live in the

mix, this set never fails to ignite the dance

floor and see hands in the air! Using loop

pedals to drop infectious vocal hooks and

melodies on new beats, rhythms, grooves and textures, this live experience fuses

her new releases with all the usual requested floor fillers, ‘Black water’ (with

Grant Nelson), ‘All About Love’ (with Knee Deep) and ‘Let It Go’ (Defected). The

Set was developed by Cathy when she supported Fatboy Slim on tour in Dubai

for Live Nation & MTV and has since opened various world sports events such as

the World Ski Championships in Switzerland & Austria and numerous MTV Club

events in Ibiza!

In 2009 Cathy received an honorary invitation

and accolade to sing for H.H the Dalai Lama’s

birthday at the Commerzbank Arena, Frankfurt,

Germany. Selected artists not only performed for

this celebration but also received a blessing from

H.H himself. The arena hosted 40,000 people

and the proceeds raised money for the ‘Free

Tibet Campaign’.

Recent events include the prestigious Murano

Glass Fine Art project in Venice, ‘Glasstress‘

2013. Cathy was invited to perform and co-write

an EP for this exclusive collection and exhibition

opening at La Biennale, Venice, Italy. This exhibition features cutting edge

installations created by extraordinary artists, Vivienne Westwood, Tracy Emin,

Damien Hurst and the legendary NYC producer, artist / rapper, Pharrell Williams.

on Sony House Afrika - a Deep Soulful House EP, including the Peng Mix, The Rurals Mix and Da Capo’s Touch Mix. Over the last
