Hola! soy Inés Portell Cardell, nacida en Mallorca en junio de 1984.Desde pequeña realicé actividades plásticas que me llevaron a cursar el bachillerato artístico en la “Escola Superior de Disseny” en Palma de Mallorca.En el mismo centro estudié la diplomatura oficial en Diseño de Interiores. Opteniendo el “premio extraordinario” por el proyecto final de carrera que realicé.Antes de acabar mis estudios ya empecé mi andadura profesional realizando viviendas y proyectos de retail hasta hoy en día. También he colaborado con arquitectos y diseñadores de prestigio como SCT arquitectos, Barceló hoteles, Can Cabot proyectos, etc.Presentándome a concursos como “Art Jove” 2005 i 2007 quedando finalista en ambos certámenes.En 2006 gané la beca de ampliación de estudios del IDI, permitiendome cursar cursos de postgrado en Central Saint Martins de Londres y Duomo de Milán.

My name is Ines Portell Cardell, i was born in Mallorca, June 1984.I began doing plastic activities when a was little and that took me to do Artistic High School at the “Superior Design School” in Palma.In the same centre i received the o cial degree in Interior Design, obta ining the “Extraordinary Award” for the final project. All this, combining with freelance jobs, including collaborations with architects and designers and doing competitions like the “ Art Jove” and being selected with the project “ “Seven O ces and a garden” In 2006 i won the grant of the IDI studies ampliation as well i studied some interior design modules for TV and Cinema as well as ephemeral spaces at “Central Saint Martins” in London and “Domus Academy” in Milan, apart from going regularly to national and international fairs like the “salon de muebles” of Valencia or the “Salone Internazionale del Mobile” of Milan.

Hanoi CaféBar de noche que funciona como una cafetería de día, donde la pista de baile se convierte en una zona “chill out” con asientos cerca del suelo, la estilo oriental

Se ha creado una tarima un poquito mas elevada que el resto del local para a posible celebración de conciertos o sesiones de DJ´s.

It is a night bar that it is functions like a day time cafeteria, where the dance floor converts into a chill out zone with chairs close to the dance floor in oriental style.

They have created a raised platform slightly more elevated than the rest of the bar for the possible celebration of concerts or DJ´s session.

Se hace especial hincapié en el juego de luz y color que se da en todo el local, combinando colores saturados e iluminación oculta. It has a special emphasis on light and colour throughout the bar, combining saturated colours and hidden lighting.

Nokturn Se trata de una bar de noche en Porreras, Mallorca, especializado en música rock y que solo abre los fines de semana, preparado para a lbergar sesiones de DJs y conciertos.

Anteriormente, este local era un concesionario, por lo que es un local con muchas vidrieras, poco adecuado para la acústica de una bar musical. por eso, se decide hacer un cambio total, cerrando todas estas vidrieras y creando un mundo interior basado en los fuertes contrastes de luz y color.

It is about a night club in Porreras, Mallorca. Specialises in rock music and only opens at weekends, where you can find DJ sessions and concerts.

Before it was a concessionary of cars therefore it has lots of large windows, not really suitable for the acoustics of a musical bar. For that reason it was decided to do a complete change, closing up all the windows and creating an interior world based on intensive contrasts of lighting and colour.

La barra es una caja totalmente negra con un bloque de rayas de color de medio. Se ha jugado con materiales retro iluminados para crear una atmósfera teatral. The bar is a box totally black with raises of colours in the middle, played with retro illuminated materials that create an theatrical atmosphere.

Diseño de bañosBathroom design

Gent Menuda Esta tienda de ropa infantil y femenina está situada en el Porreres Mallorca, cuenta con una superficie de nueva construcción de 200m2.En este caso la intervención en el proyecto se hizo desde antes de la construcción del loca l que y a la compenetra c ión con la a rquitecta permitió ha cer ca mbios estructurales en el edificio.El proyecto se basó en el estudio del producto a vender. Separando cada uno de los laterales del local para un publico distinto.

This ladies and children´s clothes shop, situated in Porreras, Mallorca has an area of new construction of 200m2.In this case the intervention of the project was done before the construction of the shop, having an identity with the architecture, what allowed to make structural changes of the building.

El mobiliario fue creado exclusivamente para este establecimiento, permitiendo mucha movilidad y cambio.The look was created exclusively for this establishment allowing movement and changes.

Establiments Este proyecto es el diseño para reformar una vivienda pareada de más de100 años de antigüedad en las afueras de Palma de Mallorca.La idea principal es la de derrumbar los tabiques que encerraban inútilmente las grandes salas así como aportar mayor luminosidad al espacio remodelando los huecos existentes.Como paleta de materiales se utilizó el hormigón, el roble aceitado y el blanco como color base. Sin olvidar algunos toques de color en mobiliario y detalles.

This project is a design to reform a terraced house of more than 100 years old on the outskirts of Palma of Mallorca.The principal idea is to knock down the until interior walls that close up the enormous rooms so that it will allow the maximum amount of light to the redesigned area in the existing space. Di erent materials were used like concrete, oiled oak and white as the base colour. Without forgetting some touches of colour in the furniture and elements of the house.

El resultado final es una casa mucho más luminosa, abierta y desenfadada. The final result is a house with much more illumination, open and fresh.

Santa Ponça Este apartamento, de principios de los 80, se caracterizaba por un exceso de compartimentación y unos material muy fríos puesto que era una residencia de verano.

El trabajo realizado fue abrir espacios eliminando tabiques y puertas permitiendo la entrada de luz natural, mejorando la ventilación e incorporando las maravillosas vistas del puerto donde se sitúa el apartamento.

A la vez lo adaptamos como residencia de todo el año, utilizando materiales como el bambú y los colores gris, naranja y verde que crean una gran armonía.Así mismo se puede apreciar que la forma circular es un motivo común en objetos, electrodomésticos y vinilos.

This apartment, of the early 80´s, is characterised by an excess of compartments of space with excessively cold materials, that was a summer residence.

The work was based on to open the spaces and to eliminate walls and doors allowing the natural light to pass through, improve the ventilation and incorporate the wonderful sea views to the marina as part of the interior design. As well as adapting it to a residential year round home.

To work with the material, recovering the floor with bamboo and choosing a range of neutral colours, like broken white and grey as well as the details in green pistachio and orange giving a all the year round harmony.

Therefore the circular form is a conductor for the walls in the form of vinyl, or to cover the bathroom the same es the floor in carpet.

Fuente y JardínThe Fountain Garden

Es la creacion de una gtran fuente al lado de una piscina y un espacio ajardinado en una vivienda alquilable para la realización de eventos.

La fuente es una superficie de 7x5 m donde se crea una cortina de agua que cae en unas losas desplazando el agua hasta la piscina. La iluminación de esta fuente, hecha con fibra óptica, permite movimientos del agua cayendo.

It is the creation of a big fountain next to a swimming pool and a garden space in a house which is hired for events.

The fountain has a surface of 7X5 were it creates a curtain of water that falls onto flagstones flowing into the swimming pool. The illumination of the fountain is done with fibre optic, allows you see the movement of the falling water.

Materiales de piedra en se seco con los parámetros verticales para unificarlos con la vivienda , granito negro envejecido en las losas horizontales y finalmente acero inoxidable en jardineras y remates.

The materials are of dry stone on the vertical wall matching the house , old black granite on the horizontal stones and finally stainless steel on the gardens and the finishing.

Después de realizar el curso de post grado en Retail en Eel Central Saint Martins de Londres empecé como escaparatista en las tiendas MANGO.Llevando todas las franquicias de Mallorca.El trabajo requiere entender el concepto de imagen de marca y respetar los canones de la central.Por otra parte he realizado escaparates como autónoma para diferentes tiendas en la isla.

After doing a course of Retail in Central Saint Martins of London, I started to be part of Mango’s Display Team. Being responsible of the monthly changes of all Mango franchises in Mallorca.

The job demands understanding of the importance of the image of the brand name of an international company and respecting the central brand that forms the common image.

On the other hand I do shop windows, as a freelance, for di erent fashion shops on order.

La ejecución de estands y expositores para la sección de perfumería del Duty Free del aeropuerto de Palma de Mallorca consiste en entender la imagen de marca de estas empresas y crear espacios efímeros promocionales para un perfume en concreto en un corto plazo de tiempo.Los factores que hacen que este tipo de trabajos resulten un éxito para nuestros clientes, son la rápida ejecución de los mismos así como una buena calidad en los materiales y el diseño.

The execution of stands and items for the perfume section of the Duty Free in the airport of Palma of Mallorca consists in understanding the image of the company and converting it into promotional set ups like podiums of the promotions, or other stands for perfume sales.As much for the client as for our work, one of the most important factors is the quick execution and set up of the projects, having a very short period of time and its promotional function, without forgetting the quality of the construction of the promotional setup.
