Challenge 3 (Mylene Jonker and Jonas Piet)
A Social Business Plan for Gioco
So who is Gioco?
“Culture is the only power we have to change the city & face illegality. If we educate people, we avoid that they go into illegality, and society doesn’t have to recover this situation.”
“It seems a simple thing, but we don’t succeed because investment in culture is considered loosing money”
Martina Romanello, Gioco
The problem:
The Big Idea:
Gioco initiates activities in a localized network
Some people initiate, many contribute (financial/non-financial)
(Gioco provides space, tools, etc.)
From an ‘artisan-way’ To a ‘Wiki-way’ of co-production
Capitalising on assets & social value
Crowdsourcing &Finding new things people pay for
Cross-funding & CSR
How that could work for Gioco:
Self-funded(e.g. Theatrelab)
Activities we won’t charge for(e.g. Playlab)
do what makes money, make money form what you’re doing
Profitable Activities(e.g. Pizzafest)
e.g. Storytelling session with a company (while the Cooklab caters)
e.g. Theatre production funded upfront + pillow rent
e.g. Connecting the Playlab to a Gift Matching Program
