Final Development – Pro EngineerThis page shows the final design as a final rendered design using Pro Engineer
Development of Final Design Sectional ViewsThis page shows various sectional views with measurements so that I have precise and accurate internal measurements of the design – it also gives a feel of how the design will be put together as well as space for wiring when in manufacture
Views of ConsumersThis page shows the opinions of consumers who have interacted and tested the product - I assured the consumers to be direct and urged them to give strong criticism so that I don’t have bias views
Overall I feel the product has come out successfully I’ve had positive feedback from the consumers and I myself feel the design has come along way, although I have suggested ways to improve the products , I feel the design is very good, in terms of Aesthetics the product very appealing with it’s peculiar shape and style - the final product met specification 100% and I met the set brief as my design is based on the streamline era
“I think the parts on either side should be attached to the middle instead of being joint by wire” – Navdeep Ubhi
“I would agree that the overall form of the design is OK, but you have tried to exceed the capabilities of Aeroply in terms of the minimum radius of curve that can be achieved. Perhaps you should have just modified the design to keep the front external curve at a larger radius” – Mr. Sumpner
“I like the shapes of the parts and they way the speakers fit nicely on the side” – Joe Redfern
“I like how all three parts have the same shape, the wire holding each could be a little fiddly but it gives it a unique design” – Jagjit Choda
“The shapes and positioning are really good, and it looks professional, the i-pod is central which is appropriate however i might have put the switch in the middle to make the design even on both sides” – James Cusack
With these views and opinions of my design from other people – I will suggest ways to met specific points aspects to improve the design for the future – I feel the criticism have been mainly positive which shows the products success
Suggested ImprovementsThis page shows how for future I could improve this design - on this page there a few quick sketches just to show how I could improve certain aspects of the final design
•I could’ve made the design slightly bigger - as the dimensions set in specification were met easily and I felt the housing for the MP3 player was quite compact and could be a tight fit dependant on the MP3 players dimensions
•I think I wouldn’t use Aeroply again as I had a lot of difficulty bonding the Aeroply to the MDF supports, I think I could use a polymer like PMMA by using processes like vacuum forming to achieve curves and bends
•I could using the vinyl cutter add patterns on the design to enhance its aesthetic
•I could’ve made the design out of various types of wood - following the Art-Deco era style
•I could spray the design a different colour
Below are sketches and ideas that I have created to enhance the design, learning from the views of the consumers the sketches below are to improve my understand for the future of this product
Virtual EvaluationThis page shows how the virtual design compares to the actual final design, I feel overall the design has been successful and i also feel the final design turned out better than I expected as I feel it surpasses the virtual rendering
