How can ICT’s help address and create greater understanding of climate change issues for the Caribbean Agriculture Industry? How to alleviate and adopt in terms of preparation farming choices, planning and sustainable production, access to storage management and strategic use of water financing, insurance, risk mitigation/risk assessment tools to measure climate change factors and assess damage?

• Climate change is a real concern for sustainable development of agriculture in the Caribbean. Markets protection of intellectual property rights and government support, “such as” agricultural extension programs.

• Extension involves the distribution of more research knowledge and information. The extension programs can help farmers to prepare for greater climate variability, to create contingency measures to deal with risks and reduce the consequences of climate change by providing advice on how to deal with doughts and floods.

Climate Change

• Challenges in the small of the Caribbean vulnerable to impact(sea level rises, temperature and rainfall variations, and increased hurricane activity).

• Example– Looking back in 2010 the Island of Saint Vincent was a

critical issue because many of their less developed areas depends on rain as their only source of portable water.

• Crops are grown under a range of water management from simple soil tillage aimed at increasing the inflation of rainfall water management attempts to control the amount of water available to a crop through the opportunistic deviation of the rainwater pathway toward enhanced moisture storage in the root zone

Basic Information on the Website/App

• The creation of our Website/App basically clear enough to understand that we are targeting our CARICOM farmer’s through out the Caribbean, On how to help the farmer’s with the climate changing and their water management. The estimate of our farmer’s has shown us that the two (2) main challenges they’re facing are climate changing and water management.
