1. Login to SAP HANA Studio

1.1. Launch SAP GUI and double click on ‘BW740 HANA’ to login to SAP BW.

1.2. Enter Username, Password and click on Enter button.

1.3. Create a user ‘BPC1’ having two roles as shown below with the help of t-code

SU01.

1.4. Using the same t-code SU01, create a user ‘BPC2’ having two roles as

highlighted in the below screenshot.

2. Login to BPC and verify the authorization access for the newly created users.

2.1. Launch the BPC screen and login with the BPC1 user.

2.2. The user will be asked to change the password as the user is logging in for the

first time. Change the password and click on ‘Change’.

2.3. The below shown warning message will be displayed as the BPC1 user is not

authorized to perform any activity. Click on ‘Ok’ button in the warning window.

2.4. Launch the BPC screen and login with BPC2 user.

2.5. The user will be asked to change the password as the BPC2 user is logging to

the application for the first time. Enter the new password and click on ‘Change’ to

login.

2.6. The same warning message will be displayed as the ‘BPC2’ user also doesn’t

have access to perform any action. Click on ‘Ok’ button.

3. Login as BPC admin user.

3.1. Add the new users created in SAP HANA Studio.

3.1.1. Login to BPC with the BPC admin user. Enter the Username, Password and

click on the Logon button.

3.1.2. Click on the environment link at the bottom right corner of the screen as shown

below to connect to the ENV075_DEV environment.

3.1.3. The below warning message will be displayed before we connect to the

ENV075_DEV environment. Click on ‘Continue’ to proceed.

3.1.4. Select the ENV075_DEV environment from the list and select ‘Connect’ button

to connect to the environment.

3.1.5. The ENV075_DEV environment gets connected as shown below. Click on the

‘Planning and Consolidation Administration’ link from the Launch section of the

Home page.

3.1.6. Click on ‘Users’ option under Security section in Administration workspace.

Then click on ‘Add’ button to add the user.

3.1.7. Select the ‘BPC1’, ‘BPC2’ users and click on ‘Add’ button to add the users

under Selected Users section on right side.

3.1.8. Click on ‘Next’ button to proceed further after adding the BPC1 user to the

Selected Users section.

3.1.9. Click on ‘Next’ button in step2.

3.1.10. Click on ‘Finish’ to complete the process of adding users to the environment.

3.1.11. Click on ‘Close’ button in the last step.

3.2. Create teams and add users to the teams.

3.2.1. Select ‘Teams’ option in Security section. Click on ‘New’ button to create a

team.

3.2.2. Enter the name and description details in the provided fields as shown below.

Then click ‘Next’.

3.2.3. Select the ‘BPC1’ user and click on ‘Add’ button.

3.2.4. Once the user is added to the Selected Users section click on ‘Next’ button.

3.2.5. Click on ‘Finish’ button in Review and Add step.

3.2.6. Click on ‘Close’ button to complete the process.

3.2.7. Click on ‘New’ button in Teams to create one more team.

3.2.8. Enter the Team ID and Description details as shown in the below highlighted

text box. Then click on ‘Next’ button

3.2.9. In Assign Users step, select and add ‘BPC2’ user to the Selected Users

section.

3.2.10. Click on ‘Next’ button once the user is added.

3.2.11. Click on ‘Finish’ button in step3.

3.2.12. Click on ‘Close’ button in the confirmation screen.

3.2.13. As shown below the above created two teams (consolidation team and data

load team) are displayed in Teams page.

3.3. Create Task Profiles and add teams.

3.3.1. Navigate to ‘Task Profiles’ in Security section and click on ‘New’ button.

3.3.2. Enter the task profile name and description in the provided fields. Then click

on ‘Next’ button in 1st step to add task profile.

3.3.3. Select the ‘Consolidation’ folder from the ‘Available Tasks’ section and click on

‘Add’ button.

3.3.4. Click on ‘Next’ button once the Consolidation folder is included in the Selected

Tasks section.

3.3.5. Click on ‘Finish’ button in step3.

3.3.6. Click on ‘Close’ button in the confirmation screen of the Add Task Profile.

3.3.7. Click on the task profile which was just created.

3.3.8. Navigate to ‘Teams’ tab and click on ‘Add/Remove’ button to add the team.

3.3.9. Select the above created consolidation team and click on ‘Add’ button.

3.3.10. Click on ‘Ok’ button once the team is added to the Selected Teams section.

3.3.11. Click on ‘Save’ button once the team is created.

3.3.12. Click on ‘Close’ button once the saving confirmation message is displayed.

3.3.13. Select the ‘Task Profiles’ link and click on ‘New’ button as shown below.

3.3.14. Enter the task profile name and description in the provided fields. Then click

‘Next’.

3.3.15. Select the ‘Data Manager’ folder and click on ‘Add’ button

3.3.16. Click on ‘Next’ once the Data Manager is added to the Selected Tasks

section.

3.3.17. Click on ‘Finish’ button in step3 for Review and Add.

3.3.18. Click on ‘Close’ button to complete the process.

3.3.19. Click on the task profile link created above.

3.3.20. Navigate to Teams tab and click on ‘Add/Remove’ button.

3.3.21. Select the team created in the previous step and click on ‘Add’ button.

3.3.22. Click on ‘Ok’ once the team is moved to the Selected Teams.

3.3.23. Click on ‘Save’ button once the team is added to the Teams tab.

3.3.24. Click on ‘Close’ button when the saving confirmation message is displayed.

3.3.25. Both the Task Profiles created above are displayed in the below screen.

3.4. Create Data Access Profiles and add teams to it.

3.4.1. Navigate to ‘Data Access Profiles’ under Security section. Then click on ‘New’

button.

3.4.2. Enter the ID and Description for the new Data Access Profile. Select the model

‘Consolidation’ and then select ‘All members’ and ‘Write’ option to provide access to

all the members. Then click on ‘Save’ button.

3.4.3. The confirmation message is displayed when Data Access Profile is saved.

3.4.4. Navigate to ‘Teams’ tab and click on ‘Add/Remove’ button.

3.4.5. Select the consolidation team and click on ‘Add’ button.

3.4.6. Click on ‘Ok’ when the consolidation team is included in the Selected Teams

list.

3.4.7. Click on the ‘Save’ button.

3.4.8. Click on the ‘Close’ button when the data access profile saved confirmation

message is displayed.

3.4.9. Navigate to Data Access Profile and click on ‘New’ button to create one more

data access profile.

3.4.10. Enter the ID and Description for the data access profile and select the ‘Rates’

model as highlighted below. Provide ‘Write’ access to ‘All members’ of the Rates

model. Click on ‘Save’ button.

3.4.11. Navigate to the ‘Teams’ tab and click on ‘Add/Remove’ button to add the

team.

3.4.12. Select the data load team and click on ‘Add’ button.

3.4.13. Click on ‘Ok’ when the team is added to the Selected Teams section.

3.4.14. Click on the ‘Save’ button.

3.4.15. Click on ‘Close’ button when the confirmation message is displayed.

3.4.16. Both the data access profiles created above is displayed in the Data Access

Profiles screen.

3.4.17. Click on log off symbol to logout of the BPC screen.

3.4.18. Click on ‘Ok’ button to confirm the logout.

4. Login to BPC with ‘BPC1’ user to verify the access & authorized tasks.

4.1. Login to BPC with ‘BPC1’ user.

4.2. As the user ‘BPC1’ was added to the consolidation team in the above steps, the

consolidation related interface is displayed when the BPC1 user logs in.

4.3. To verify the access provided to the BPC1 user, click on ‘Planning and

Consolidation Administration’ link.

4.4. Verify the BPC1 user has access for ‘Controls’ as shown below which is used for

consolidation.

4.5. Click on logoff symbol to logout.

4.6. Click on ‘Ok’ button to confirm logout process.

5. Login to BPC with ‘BPC2’ user to verify the access & authorized tasks.

5.1. Login to BPC again as ‘BPC2’ user.

5.2. As ‘BPC2’ user has authorization for Data Manager which can be accessed

through EPM Office Add-in Excel. Click on the link as shown below.

5.3. According to the data access profile created for BPC2 user, this user has access

to RATES model as shown below. Select the Rates model and click on ‘Ok’ button.

5.4. Click on the ‘Data Manager’ option from top menu list.

5.5. The below screenshot shows all the options available in ‘Data Manager’ under

Data Manager Group.

5.6. Click on the ‘Organize’ dropdown to see the options available to organize the

data manager package.

5.7. Click on the ‘Organize Package List’ option from the Organize menu.

5.8. All the available packages for the Rates model are shown in the Organize

Package List as shown below. Then click on ‘Close’ button.
