Question 3 review of feedback

After looking through all my audience feedback about my questions I believe that the production has been successful meeting my audience’s expectation and what I set out to make them do. When asking the question of what media products have I made? The majority of the audience said a magazine cover and a teaser trailer, however not all could figure out what kind of product my poster was. The feedback given to me has shown me that for the most part all of my products consist of conventions that my audience would expect to see and also would most likely associate with products such as my own, however in order to improve I will next time focus on my poster in order to make sure that all my products can be recognised easily.

The next question that I proceeded to ask them was whether or not they could tell me who my target audience is where. The answer that was given was mainly young people or young people and people in their early 40s. They said that they gave this answer because the actors that were used within the trailer where a similar age to themselves, and then would be able to relate to them because the majority of them come from similar places like a school campus which is where some of the scenes were shot. When interviewing one person from my target audience one person said that they felt that the target audience was only aimed at boys instead of boys and girls. In order to improve for next time I will make sure that I include more elements of props and costumes in order to entertain my target audience.

The next question that was asked was what you believe that I could improve about my trailer if I were to do it again. The majority of the audience said in some parts of the trailer some of the scenes are a bit quite as they couldn’t hear the dialogue of some of the characters. I believe that the audience was right on this because in some parts of the trailer the sound quality wasn’t as good as it could have been. Another thing they said that could have improved was the continuity in some parts wasn’t so smooth and could be worked on in order for the video to flow properly. The majority of people said that most of the production was good and didn’t really have any faults as they believe that the trailer was the best product.

Another question I asked my audience is do you see a direct hero or villain within the production, all of my audience said that they didn’t see a direct hero within the trailer as they weren’t sure whether or not Connors character was a actually the hero or not, however they did say that they saw Jacks character as the villain and when Connors character had the coat on they also saw him as an evil character. This has fulfilled my expectations of the audience having to figure out the enigma of whether or not they see a hero like figure as by doing it creates mystery for them and then means they are more likely to want to see the film because they are interested as they haven’t seen the whole storyline enough to find out whether or not there is a hero.

The next question that I asked my audience was directly about my trailer which was what was your favourite thing within the trailer. The answer that was given was mainly that the suspense that it gave them when watching it was the best part as they felt that the story kept getting more and more

intense as it went on. This means that I have got what I wanted from my audience within this question because in order for something to be dramatic it needs to be suspenseful and unpredictable which I believe I have done here.

Another question that I asked my audience is what do you believe I could improve in my poster, this was the question that I was most interested in because I realised that from all the three products the magazine was the weakest product and because this is the weakest product the answers that were given is that not everyone was sure that it was actually a poster some said that they thought that it was a book cover and they also said to improve it needs more on it to show that it is a poster and the colours also need to be slightly brighter. This has told me in order for all the products to be a good standard I need to do more research on what make a good poster and then put this into my work by spending more time making it.

One of the other questions that stood out for me when asking my audience was is the idea of using supernatural make it more interesting. The answer that was given yes the idea of supernatural in a dramatic trailer makes it more interesting because it’s something that they haven’t seen before when they watch dramatic trailers it created suspense. This is what the trailer was aiming to do because it challenged the conventions of what a normal dramatic teaser trailer consists of which means that that they are more likely to look more into it because it’s a sense of something that they haven’t seen before which is human nature for them to want to look more into it.

In conclusion I believe that by asking a wide range of age groups it has shown me that the majority of my target audience came up with similar answers, this has shown me that the overall production is successful as different ages can come up with the same answers which Is wanted I wanted because they all consist of my aimed at target audience showing that the production can aim at a wide range of audiences.
