RISK MANAGEMENT
• The process of planning, leading and controlling the resources and activities of an organization.
• To fulfill its objectives cost effectively.
• To protect and grow corporate assets.
• To enhance shareholder value.
Activities• Patient registration• Admission scheduling• Admission, discharge, transfer• Doctors workbench• Pharmacy • Laboratory information system• Operation theatre• Electronic medical record• Billing • Insurance management
Patient registration• Patient demographics are captured in this
module of HIS• At the time of patient registration, the system
generates a unique MRN (Medical Registration Number)
• Subsequently appointments can be generated / scheduled using MRN
Doctors workbench• It is a system provided to the
physicians, practitioners or care
providers to place various
orders for a patient
• The system transmits these
orders directly to the intended
department or individuals so
that these orders can be
executed
Pharmacy Pharmacy is the place
where the requested drugs
get dispensed.
Both outpatients and
inpatients are dispensed
drugs from the pharmacy.
Laboratory information system
• The system keeps track of
the tests performed on
different patients
• It updates the patient’s lab
records in EMR
Operation theatreThis module handles all
functions of Operation
Theatre like setting up,
booking and confirming
appointments, scheduling
investigations and
maintenance of address
bank
EMR
• It is the heart of the HIS.
• EMR contains the data only
related to the patient.
• EMR is integrated with the LIS,
RIS, and other modules of the
HIS.
Patient billing • This module takes care of
generating patient billing
details from different
modules.
• It can be generated on
daily/weekly basis or at the
time of discharge.
Insurance management
It shares the diagnosis
and the procedural code
with the insurance
organization or
reimbursement

OBJECTIVE
• The objective is to identify the critical path and figure out how much time the whole project will take.

BENEFITS It helps hospitals and doctors to better serve
their patients.
Better quality of care, procedures and services
to patients.
Reduces admin workload thereby increases
productivity
Ensure paperless hospital environment.
