Today’s  reality

It’s  early  days  anyone  who  wants  to  call  themselves  a  data  scien(st

can  and  does

No  consensus!

•  Is  someone  who  applies  ‘data  science’  skill  a  data  scien)st?

•  Is  a  business  analyst  a  data  scien)st?

• Or  is  a  data  scien)st  something  more?

•  Perhaps  ‘team’  approaches  are  required?

What  is  a  data  scien/st?

The Waston that competed on Jeopardy! in 2011 comprised what is now a single API—Q&A—built on five underlying technologies.

Since then, Watson has grown to a family of 28 APIs.

By the end of 2016, there will be nearly 50 Watson APIs— with more added every year.
