What is Upstate Career Source?

Career Source helps prepare and connect people to jobs and jobs to people. We work with

businesses seeking employees and individuals preparing for and seeking employment

We do this together with many community partners!

All of our services are pre-paid by state and federal tax dollars and are no cost to you!

Oversight & Funding Provided by the Upstate Workforce Investment Board

Expanded Services

• Eligibility Required• All Basic Services PLUS:

– One on One Career Counseling

– Career Planning– More intensive assessments– WorkKeys Assessment and

Job Readiness Certificate– Job placement assistance– Possible job training

Self-Directed Services(Available to All Customers)

Use of Resource Room• Computers, faxes, phones, internet, copiers (all for job

seeking use)• Job Boards• Labor Market Information• Resource Library• Career Exploration Tools• Resume Templates• Educational Materials• Partner Materials• Listings of Upcoming Events

Please let us know if…

1. You were referred to Career Source by one of our Partner organizations

2. You have served in the Military

3. You are currently receiving Public Assistance

4. Your family income is at or below the Poverty Level

5. Have been laid off or are having difficulty securing fulltime employment

You will receive priority scheduling for possible Expanded Services

Resource Room GuidelinesWe welcome you to use our resources, but please

remember the following guidelines:

• Please sign in on the front computer each time you visit• We recommend that you find childcare for your children. If bringing small

children is absolutely necessary, please be considerate of other job seekers. No one under 18 is allowed to use the equipment. You may be asked to leave if disruptive.

• No weapons (concealed or otherwise) are allowed in Career Source• Due to space limitations, please limit personal items. Career Source is not

responsible for lost or stolen items• Please turn cell phones off or to vibrate. Please step outside or into the

hall to make a call. • No food or beverages are allowed in the Resource Room. There is a

water fountain in the hallway next to the restrooms. • Appropriate clothing is expected• All equipment (copier, fax, computers) are for job search ONLY. Violators

will be asked to leave and may lose resource room privileges.

Where things are located• White board stand in the front shows today’s happenings and highlights weekly

events

• Job Board on wall up front highlights newest or hottest jobs

• Fax Machine/Phone on wall for job search related business only. Dial 9 to get outside line. Staff will assist with long distance

• Copier on wall next to front desk – 10 page limit per visit

• All computers print to a central printer located at front desk. Please notify staff when you are printing and the information will be given to you.

• Newspapers and Job Materials are on the tables and book shelves

• Information about Partner Services and Training Providers and programs are available throughout the Resource Room

• Tip sheets are available in English & Spanish in center aisle

• Water Fountain and Bathrooms are out the back exit and to the right down the hall

Tue 8:30 a.m.-7:00 p.m.
