Teddy's Ts – an uncommon business for an uncommon man.

Teddy’s Bio Teddy is 26. He was born and adopted in New York
City at a time when people with Down syndrome never had careers. They lived in institutions or in isolation.
He is a high school graduate and attended an 8 year transition program.
He takes culinary arts classes in a College Adult Education program.
He never thought of himself as an artist until he was an adult.
Teddy's Business Nowl Teddy has now designed a dozen shirts Some ideas he came up with all by himself Other ideas he had help with He is learning to silkscreen using a Yudu He designs buttons that are made by his
friend Megan – who is also disabled.
In the beginning… Started April, 2006. Began by helping another t-shirt vendor, Dan
Wilkins, Nth Degree sell at conferences. Started selling some designs himself. Grew to over 20 of Dan's designs, plus
buttons and bumper stickers. Teddy's first self-designed shirt celebrates
Justin Dart, one of the writers of the ADA.
How does Teddy sell?• Teddy sells T-shirts using a website:

• He makes presentations to local businesses about fundraising.
• He travels to conferences and events all over the USA.
• Mostly Teddy sells by being so gregarious that it is impossible not to buy from him.

Teddy's Circle of Support Tarryn Rich Jana Ken
Circle of Support, inspired:• AJ’s Café to ask Teddy to sell during their “Singing in the Shower” fundraiser. • The National Lawyer's Guild to invite him to display at annual meeting.• The Michigan Democratic Disability Caucus to ask him to design their fundraising tshirt.• To be asked to lead the 2009 SE MI Buddy Walk.
I “love” My Life Teddy’s T’s line of shirts covers not only disability awareness but also voting,
empowerment,
self-determination, community, equality,
and Peace.
Teddy’s Person-Centered Plan
Teddy’s PCP directs his support circle via his dreams & goals to grow his business.
Teddy wants to employ other individuals with disabilities so they can have lives like his.
He wants to be recognized as a valued member of his community.
He wants to travel and make friends.
He wants to financially contribute towards his future.
