Colby Community College
Massage Therapy as a Profession
The Massage Therapy Program at Colby Community College
adheres to the standard of excellence and the code of ethics of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA)
and the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage Body Work.
Massage Therapy is among the fastest growing occupations in the
nation and continues to increase its acceptance as both an
alternative and complimentary modality in the medical industry.
The spa industry continues to expand as our lives become more
complex and stressful.
Massage Therapy Curriculum
The curriculum for the Massage Therapy Program at Colby Community College utilizes
classroom lecture ,laboratory procedures and extensive hands-on
practice. In addition, students complete an externship in
professional settings as part of the training.
My major in CCC
• The program is a two-semester certificate program which
includes a externship. Completion certificates are
awarded in May. • Graduates of the CCC program
are academically qualified to take the National Certification
Exam for Massage and Bodywork

Application Procedure Massage therapists must enjoy working with people, have a sincere interest in
helping others and be willing to complete an
intense course of study. Enrollment is limited in the Massage Therapy Program. Applicants must complete the
following requirements for consideration.
Application Details • Submit high school transcripts or
proof of GED• Submit all transcripts from post-
secondary institutions • Complete the ACT or COMPASS test• Complete personal interview with
program directors
