THRILLER A thriller is a piece of literature, film, gamin and television. Different kinds of thrillers often overlap genres for example comedy, horror. They are usually fast paced with frequent action and resourceful heroes who is more powerful and better equipped than the villain. Different techniques are used within thrillers, some including: red herrings (this fallacy is often used in detective or suspense movies to mislead readers or characters or to induce them to make false conclusions). SPY THRILLERS In spy thrillers the hero is generally a government agent whom fights against terrorism who must take violent action against agents of a rival government . A popular example of this is the James Bond franchise

POLITICAL THRILLERS A political thriller is where the hero must ensure the stability of the government that employs him. Sometimes based on actual events and an element of conspiracy theories. An example of this is Argo where Iranian activist storm into a US embassy and takes hostages. There is an under cover CIA Agent who is acting as a Hollywood producer to free the hostages while keeping it a secret

MILITARY THRILLER in which the hero is typically a uniformed military officer operating behind enemy lines alone or as part of a small team of specialists often succeeding against all the odds. An example of a military thriller is Fury where a group of soldiers during the Second World War are on a deadly mission behind enemy lines. Outnumbered, and out-gunned, Wardaddy and his men face overwhelming odds in their heroic attempts to strike the heart of Nazi Germany.

CONSPIRACY THRILLER A conspiracy thriller is where the hero confronts a large, powerful group of enemies whose true extent and power only s/he recognizes. An example of a conspiracy thriller is V for Vendetta which tells the story of Evey Hammond and her unlikely but instrumental part in bringing down the fascist government that has taken control of a futuristic Great Britain

MEDICAL THRILLER Medical thrillers, in which the hero is generally a principled physician who must fight corrupt drug companies or colleagues engaged in unethical experiments. An example of this is Side Effects which is about a world unravels when a drug prescribed by her psychiatrist has unexpected side effects.

in which the heroes are forensic experts whose involvement with an unsolved crime puts their lives at risk. An example of a forensic thriller is The Bone Collector which is about an ex-homicide detective and his female partner try to track down a serial killer who is terrorizing New York City.

psychological thrillers, in which (until the often violent resolution) conflict between the main characters is mental and emotional rather than physical. An example is Se7en where two detectives, a rookie and a veteran, hunt a serial killer who uses the seven deadly sins as his modus operandi.

HORROR THRILLER horror thriller, in which conflict between the main characters is mental, emotional, and physical. Horror Thrillers can incorporate all of the other thriller elements. For example The Purge Anarchy where three groups of people are trying to survive Purge Night, when their stories intertwine and are left stranded in The Purge trying to survive the chaos and violence that occurs.
