For my Sales and Professional Relationship Management class we interviewed Mike Houghton, the Vice President of Strategic Sales of Avnet, #108 out of the Fortune 500 companies. He recommends to network, create professional relationships and add a human element when conducting business. He is very ambitious and has high expectations for himself especially for the position he is in. He says to be a leader, without or with a title, you must be the example and go the extra mile. Lastly, have passion in your work and do it for personal satisfaction.

● Networking – Get to know people and treat them well. Add “human element” especially in technology industry.

● Create allies and friends - You can be the best at what you do, but if nobody likes you then it’s worthless.
