That's great! You learn and think independently and you're not afraid to let everyone know it.

Many candidates in today's job market are very strong minded.

But, it's also bad when you cannot follow instructions.

If you want to be part of the team, then you need to listen.

Candidates make mistake after mistake, largely because they believe they know what is best for them even before they give the recruiter or HR person an opportunity to present.

HR McNeilly, LLC. recommends you reserve your judgment until after you've been phone interviewed.

In most cases, the candidate knows the least and the interview process educates them about the company and the opportunity.

You cannot learn and exercise control at the same time.

It is unimaginable that candidates are so strong minded that even when guidance and instructions are provided . . .

. . . they still find a way to

ignore everything and

expect a happy ending.

Strategize

The best thing you can do is stop trying to wrestle for control and let it play out a little.

You always have the final say whether or not you accept the job.

Too often candidates try to take control from the very beginning and it never works.

No recruiter or HR person is going to give you the time of day if you don't let them do their job.

You'll be labeled as a bad candidate and they will move on to the next person on the list.
