IMAGES: MEANING AND EFFECTIVENESS

• The front cover Mostly lacks Text and anchoring articles, choosing instead to focus on this issues featured performer: Myles Sanko. =A

• This shot is a frontal medium shot, showing a happy Sanko. This contrasts with most of the magazine, as the other performers are show to be quite serious or on stage. =A

• Unfortunately many of the following images are attacked to adverts for upcoming concerts or records/albums =B

IMAGES CONTINUED • Most of the images accompanying the write ups of the concerts are

either, close up shots of the faces or mid shots of the entire group. This would have been done to show the reader the emotion of the performer at that time or just to show them what they looked like. =C

• The fonts on the front (the green and red text) are high contrast to the cover image, to stand out more. =A

WRITING• All of the interviews have been writer up as if they were a transcription.

E.G. for the interviews with Myles Sanko and “maverick.” they are informal and important information is quoted and emboldened.

• The Language is complimentary above all else; “oozingly sumptuous”

• The Editor’s message is friendly and describes the contents of the magazine, wishing the reader well

• To emphasise this issues star. power, the lexical field is one of space
