Ethics is a key branch of philosophy, concerned with analyzing what is right or wrong in people’s behavior or conduct. The term ‘ethics’ is usually applied to persons (ethics comes from the Greek ethos, meaning character) .
Cash and incentives issues
This includes base salaries, annual incentive plans, long term incentive plans.
PERFORMANCE APPRAISAL
RACE AND DISABILITY ISSUES
In this environment the HR plays very important role:
monitor the principle and norms of the enterprise to ensure that they reflect the values of the society
Monitor the selection, reward and development that they are consistent with the principles and norms.
EMPLOYMENT ISSUES
They face ethical dilemmas in this case sometimes:
Like while recruiting other candidate is more capable than anyone of his relatives.When any argument is going on mainly between his relatives and an employee it becomes more difficult to handle it.
PRIVACY ISSUES
It is an issue to protect a person’s personal life from intrusive and unwarranted actions.
Exceptions are permitted grudgingly only when the job involvement is clear
SAFETY AND HEALTH ISSUES
RESTRUCTRING AND LAYOFF ISSUES
Restructuring and consequent layoffs have become relevant because of poor management . If restructuring requires to close a plant,in this case layoffs are ethically important.
